Antonio Lara is a Spanish dubbing actor, voice director, and adapter based in Barcelona, with a career spanning several decades in the Spanish entertainment industry. He is a graduate of the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, where he trained as both an actor and a director, and he began his professional life in the theater before transitioning to dubbing work approximately ten years later, around the mid-1970s. By 1983, he had started adapting dialogues for Televisión Española and home video releases, and from 1985 onward, he has been consistently involved in adapting films for cinema.

Lara is widely recognized for his contributions to the Spanish dubs of numerous anime series and films, lending his voice to several iconic characters. Among his most notable roles are Lord Nekron, also known as Crystal Boy, in the film Space Adventure Cobra - The Movie, and the legendary Captain Harlock in the television series Space Pirate Captain Harlock. He also voiced the character Alex Liger in the original video animation Dallos and took on the role of Milan in the special Andromeda Stories. His other anime voice work includes parts in classic series such as Candy Candy (as Anthony and Terry), Mazinger Z, and Ulysses 31 (as Numaios), as well as films like Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer (as Kakuragi) and several Doraemon movies.

Beyond his on-screen roles, Antonio Lara has been highly active behind the scenes as a dubbing director and adapter for the Spanish versions of many animated and live-action productions. His directorial work in the anime world includes series such as Candy Candy, Hello! Sandybell, and Space Pirate Captain Harlock, for which he also provided adaptations. He further served as the ADR director and script adapter for the live-action film Crying Freeman.

His extensive career as an adapter encompasses a vast number of Hollywood films, totaling well over a thousand movies and numerous television series. His notable work in this field includes the Spanish adaptations for major films like Toy Story, The Lion King, Titanic, the Matrix trilogy, and multiple installments of franchises such as Saw and John Wick. His skill and longevity in the profession were formally recognized when he won the ATRAE award for Best Translation and Adaptation for Dubbing of a Film Released in Theaters for his work on Toy Story 4.
