Description
Jin Clice is the ace special agent of the Japan Science and Technology agency, an elite government espionage program. During a dangerous mission, his body is mortally wounded by the KGB. Having invested significant resources into their top spy, the agency refuses to let him die. In a desperate move to save him and cut costs, they transfer his brain into the only available replacement body: that of a recently deceased, young, and beautiful female tennis player. The dashing ladies man awakens to find himself transformed, essentially going from being a suave James Bond type to becoming the Bond girl. Despite the shock of his new form, he retains all his combat training, linguistic skills, and spy instincts. His superiors at the JST, led by the bureau chief Waratta Uhyouhyo, immediately send him back into the field to continue his missions across the globe. Now operating in an unexpected identity, Clice must navigate deadly international intrigue, including ongoing conflicts with enemy organizations, while dealing with the absurd and often paradoxical situations that arise from having a man's mind in a woman's body. The story is a blend of high-energy spy action and sharp gag comedy, with Clice determined to prove his value to the agency in the hopes of earning the resources needed to return to his original body.

The series is based on a manga by Osamu Akimoto, the creator of the legendary long-running series KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops. Serialization of Mr. Clice began in 1985, and the anime adaptation was announced in late 2025 as part of a celebration for the manga's 40th anniversary. As of the announcement, details such as the release date, episode count, and animation studio remain pending. The cast of characters includes Alexander Bellamacha and Meiling Lin, with Clice sometimes taking the female name Jinho while in his new body. The narrative follows Clice on dangerous missions across the world for the JST, combining espionage thrills with a comedic premise that explores themes of identity and the clash between his past reputation as a ladies man and his current physical reality.
