In the eerie atmosphere of Heian-era Kyoto, a man named Tokimasa visits the house of a woman he once abandoned. Upon arriving, he discovers not a living welcome but the woman's abandoned corpse, still lying where she died. An eerie, unsettling light hovers around her remains, suggesting something unnatural has taken hold. Stricken with fear that the woman cursed him with her dying breath, Tokimasa seeks the aid of Kamo no Tadayuki, a powerful onmyoji exorcist, to lift the potential curse and protect himself from the spirit's vengeance.

The story, a romance ghost story inspired by the Konjaku Monogatari collection of classical Japanese tales, follows the tragic aftermath of a failed relationship. The narrative explores themes of abandonment, guilt, and supernatural retribution.
