Description
Ai Sato is a brilliant systems engineer who single-handedly maintains all of the internal software for her company. Despite being the sole person responsible for the entire technical infrastructure, she is abruptly laid off after a change in company leadership. The new CEO, who disapproves of her cosplaying at the office, deems her role unnecessary. Devastated and directionless, Ai sits alone in a family restaurant lamenting her fate when she unexpectedly reunites with Kenta Suzuki, her childhood friend. Kenta, who runs a startup called True Coding School, recognizes Ai's immense talent and offers her a position as a lecturer at his new venture. Ai accepts, and together they open a coding school designed to give people a second chance in the modern workforce. The story follows Ai as she teaches a diverse group of students, each struggling with their own personal and professional challenges. Her first student is a salaryman desperate to improve his relationship with his family. Subsequent recruits include an overworked woman trying to prove her value at the office and an unemployed person hoping to fulfill a parent's dream. Through her passionate, unconventional, and sometimes over-the-top teaching methods, Ai does not just impart technical coding skills. She helps her students rebuild their self-confidence, rediscover their purpose, and learn to navigate the pressures of modern society. The narrative is set in the contemporary Japanese corporate world, contrasting the cold, shortsighted management of Ai's old company with the supportive, human-centered environment of the coding school. As Ai helps her students grow, the company that fired her begins to suffer severe operational problems after losing the engineer who secretly kept everything running. The story balances workplace comedy, sharp social commentary on corporate culture, and heartfelt character drama, exploring themes of self-worth, the value of specialized knowledge, and the power of mentorship.
