Description
"RS Keikaku -Rebirth Storage-" is a science fiction anime series set in a dystopian future where humanity faces extinction due to a catastrophic event known as the "Collapse." The Collapse has left the Earth's surface uninhabitable, forcing survivors to live in underground cities. To combat the ongoing environmental degradation and secure humanity's survival, a secretive organization called Rebirth Storage (RS) has developed advanced technology to store and transfer human consciousness into artificial bodies, known as "Vessels." These Vessels are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the surface and carry out missions to restore the planet.
The protagonist, Aoi Satsuki, is a young woman who volunteers to become a Vessel after losing her family in the Collapse. She joins a team of other Vessels, each with unique abilities and personalities, tasked with exploring the surface, gathering resources, and combating hostile entities known as "Hollows." These Hollows are remnants of humanity corrupted by the Collapse, posing a constant threat to the Vessels' missions. As Aoi and her team delve deeper into the mysteries of the Collapse, they uncover hidden truths about Rebirth Storage's true intentions and the origins of the Hollows.
The narrative explores themes of identity, sacrifice, and the ethical implications of transferring human consciousness into artificial bodies. Aoi's journey is marked by her struggle to reconcile her humanity with her new existence as a Vessel, while her teammates grapple with their own pasts and motivations. The series balances action-packed missions with introspective moments, delving into the psychological toll of their transformation and the moral dilemmas they face.
Key characters include Renjiro Kuga, the stoic and experienced leader of the team; Yuki Hoshino, a cheerful yet enigmatic Vessel with a mysterious connection to the Hollows; and Dr. Kazuto Kirishima, the brilliant but morally ambiguous scientist behind the Vessel technology. Their interactions and evolving relationships drive the emotional core of the story, as they navigate the blurred lines between humanity and artificiality.
The plot unfolds through a series of missions, each revealing more about the world's history and the true nature of the Collapse. As the team uncovers Rebirth Storage's darker secrets, they are forced to question their purpose and the cost of survival. The series builds toward a climactic confrontation that challenges their understanding of humanity and the future of their world.
