Description
"Votoms Finder" is a direct-to-video anime series set in the "Armored Trooper Votoms" universe, serving as a spin-off to the original 1983 series. The story is divided into two parts: "Koei Futatabi" and "Gesshō." The narrative centers on Chirico Cuvie, a former elite soldier and protagonist of the original series, who has retired to a quiet life as a junk dealer on the planet Melkia. However, his peaceful existence is disrupted when he is drawn back into conflict.
In "Koei Futatabi," Chirico is approached by a young woman named Aronia, who seeks his help to rescue her brother, a soldier captured by a rogue military faction. Chirico reluctantly agrees, and the mission leads him to confront remnants of the past, including old enemies and advanced military technology. The story explores themes of loyalty, survival, and the lingering effects of war, as Chirico navigates a world still scarred by the conflicts he once fought in.
The second part, "Gesshō," shifts focus to a mysterious artifact known as the "Gesshō," which holds significant power and is sought after by various factions. Chirico becomes entangled in the race to secure the artifact, facing off against powerful adversaries and uncovering secrets tied to his own history. The narrative delves deeper into the lore of the Votoms universe, revealing connections between the artifact and the ancient civilization that created the Armored Troopers.
Throughout the series, Chirico remains a stoic and pragmatic figure, driven by a sense of duty and a desire to protect those who rely on him. The supporting cast, including Aronia and other allies, provides additional layers to the story, highlighting the human cost of war and the resilience of those who survive it. The series maintains a balance between action-packed mecha battles and introspective moments, staying true to the tone of the original "Votoms" while expanding its narrative scope.
