Description
Hauer is a character created for the anime film Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture and appears exclusively within that story. He is depicted as a tall man with silver hair, wearing white armor and a golden mask that conceals his face. He serves as one of three loyal attendants to the main antagonist, Laocorn Gaudeamus, alongside his comrades Jamin and Panni. Each of these three servants possesses a unique power over an element, with Hauer controlling air.
The three attendants originate from the Gaudeamus family estate on Rhodos Island. When Laocorn decides to search for the six pieces of the Armor of Mars to claim its divine power, Hauer and the others follow him. They manage to retrieve several pieces of the armor using force and manipulation, including placing a mind-controlling mask on a fighter named Cheng Sinzan to use him as a tool. When Laocorn's sister, Sulia, recruits Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, and Mai Shiranui to find the remaining armor pieces first, Hauer is sent to pursue them. He specifically follows Andy and Mai, revealing himself at Duck King's nightclub. During this encounter, he becomes enraged when Mai comments that Andy is more handsome than him, demonstrating his vanity. Hauer later trails the pair to Hebei Province in China, where he easily defeats them and takes a piece of the armor that Andy had found. In the final confrontation in Jerusalem, Hauer is able to incapacitate both Terry and Joe, but he is ultimately defeated by a vicious slap from Andy Bogard, after which he lies on the ground coughing up blood as Mai questions if he has died.
Hauer has a notably narcissistic personality and is deeply obsessed with beauty, particularly his own. He wears a golden mask not only as part of his combat attire but also because he believes others are not worthy of looking upon his handsome face. He is a sadistic individual who enjoys playing psychological games with his opponents. For example, he torments Andy by forcibly kissing Mai in front of him. Hauer has no interest in fair fights or personal honor, caring only about victory and achieving his goals by any means necessary. He relies almost entirely on his long-range aerokinetic powers in combat rather than engaging in close-quarters brawling. His abilities allow him to create and control air at will. He can fashion invisible blades of wind capable of cutting through steel, generate powerful gusts to disorient enemies or escape from situations, create barriers of air to shield himself from attacks, and even drain all the oxygen from a given area or room to suffocate those inside. He supplements these powers with acrobatic movements meant to confuse foes and leave them vulnerable to his ranged assaults. His role in the story is that of a formidable enforcer who serves Laocorn loyally, and his primary antagonistic relationship is with Andy Bogard, driven partly by competition over Mai's affections and remarks about their appearances. His development is limited to his function as an obstacle for the heroes, and his defeat removes one of Laocorn's primary guardians.
