Alvida, initially known as "Iron Mace" Alvida, commanded the Alvida Pirates in the East Blue, terrorizing the region for at least two years. She enslaved Koby as a cabin boy, subjecting him to constant threats and physical abuse. During this era, she possessed an obese physique and wielded a spiked iron mace as her primary weapon, violently demanding her crew declare her "the most beautiful woman in the world." Her reign ended when Monkey D. Luffy defeated her in the Romance Dawn Arc, his Gomu Gomu no Pistol attack knocking her unconscious and freeing Koby. Following this loss, Alvida abandoned her crew and consumed the Sube Sube no Mi (Smooth-Smooth Fruit), a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. This transformed her body, eliminating excess fat and freckles to reveal a slim, conventionally attractive form with dark-green eyes. The fruit granted her skin a slippery quality, enabling physical attacks to slide off harmlessly and allowing her to skate on surfaces. Despite this change, she retained sufficient strength to wield her iron mace effectively. Alvida maintained her delusional self-perception of beauty, claiming the fruit merely removed her freckles. Alvida later allied with Buggy after rescuing him from a giant crab, forming the Buggy and Alvida Alliance to seek revenge on Luffy. Demonstrating pragmatic leadership during Buggy’s imprisonment in Impel Down, she temporarily commanded the Buggy Pirates. Though she initially abandoned rescue efforts, she accepted his return after the Summit War of Marineford and supported his ventures. This included joining his organization, Buggy’s Delivery, after he became a Warlord of the Sea, and later affiliating with the Cross Guild alongside Crocodile and Dracule Mihawk. In *One Piece: Stampede*, Alvida appears with Buggy’s crew during the Pirates Festival on Delta Island. She participates in the treasure hunt for Gol D. Roger’s lost possessions, accompanying Buggy and Galdino (Mr. 3) in their search, operating under Buggy’s command during the festival events. Alvida’s personality blends vanity, cruelty, and pragmatism. She demands cleanliness and order, punishing crew members for dust or laziness with her mace. While her temperament softened somewhat after her Devil Fruit transformation, she remains authoritative and avoids overwhelming odds. An infatuation with Luffy, stemming from his being her first conqueror, contrasts with her willingness to see him killed if it serves her interests. Koby remains a specific enemy due to his rebellion.
