Isaura Gomes was a highly respected Brazilian voice actress, born on September 8, 1938, in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, Brazil. She passed away on April 9, 2022, at the age of 83. With a career spanning over six decades from the 1960s, she became one of the most recognizable and versatile voices in Brazilian dubbing.

Gomes had an extensive body of work in anime, contributing her voice to numerous titles and characters. In the series Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan, she voiced the character Hinomoto Sada. She also took on the role of Morgana in Entaku no Kishi Monogatari: Moero Arthur. Her film work includes the role of Yoshie in the Studio Ghibli film Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and the part of Izanami in the classic film The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon. She voiced Príncipe Franz in the anime series Princess Knight and the Bruxa (Witch) in Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. Additionally, she was the voice of Formiga 2 in the series Manga Aesop Monogatari.

Beyond the roles listed, her anime credits were vast and included major productions. She voiced Dante in Fullmetal Alchemist, the Witch of the Waste in Howl's Moving Castle, and Eudial in Sailor Moon S.
