TV Special
Description
Pikachu, an Electric-type Pokémon, possesses yellow fur, red cheek sacs that store and discharge electricity, and a lightning bolt-shaped tail used for communication and powerful electrical surges. During a beach outing, Pikachu encounters a weakened Wynaut reporting that Meowth and Team Rocket-affiliated Pokémon—Exploud and Hariyama—have forcibly taken over Wynaut’s playground on a nearby island. In response, Pikachu organizes the beach Pokémon to reclaim the playground, training Wynaut, Buizel, and Chatot to enhance their combat readiness. Pikachu coordinates the group's strategy, demonstrating leadership and a drive to protect vulnerable Pokémon.

Pikachu's background involves being orphaned as a Pichu and raised by a Kangaskhan, fostering deep empathy that motivates its protective actions. After evolving, Pikachu was captured and housed at Professor Oak's laboratory before assignment to a Trainer. Battling experiences, including defeating opponents like Raichu through agility and unconventional tactics despite disadvantages, built resilience and inform its strategic approach.

Biologically, Pikachu generates internal electricity requiring regular discharge for health. It forages for Berries, roasting them with electricity to soften them, and releases stored energy instantly when angered or threatened. While typically quadrupedal, it stands bipedally for mobility or combat. Pikachu communicates through squeaks and tail gestures; gatherings of its kind can inadvertently trigger lightning storms due to accumulated electrical energy.
