Description
Pikachu appears in this animated short alongside Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and Lotad. Exploring a forest, the group stumbles upon Team Rocket's newly built secret base. Hearing captive Whismur's cries for help inside, Pikachu spearheads a rescue, coordinating a combined Thunderbolt, Torchic's Ember, and Mudkip's Water Gun to shatter the cage lock.

During the chaotic escape inside the base, Pikachu actively evades pursuit by Meowth and Team Rocket's Seviper, Cacnea, and Wobbuffet. Conflict and comedy stem from Meowth's Dancing PokéBaton invention; when activated, it plays "Polka O Dolka" and forces nearly all nearby Pokémon into uncontrollable dancing. Like the others except the resistant Treecko, Pikachu suffers repeated dance frenzies triggered by the device.

Pikachu employs Thunderbolt defensively and offensively during chases, though one blast is deflected by Wobbuffet's Mirror Coat, nearly knocking Mudkip down. Subjected to the malfunctioning baton, Pikachu engages in various dance styles: a jig, a tango requiring Pokémon partners, and a hula. These sequences involve navigating hazards like dancing on a collapsing patio and a teetering catwalk.

Pikachu demonstrates physical agility while escaping across unstable scaffolding and through the base's ballroom, disrupting food and decorations. After the PokéBaton finally explodes, Pikachu flees alongside the group from Loudred's destructive rampage. Their escape culminates riding a piece of falling debris, safely halted by Lotad's Water Gun before hitting a cliff. Pikachu then leads the group's celebration upon their safe landing.
