Description
Eren Jaeger is a first-year student at Attack Junior High School. His intense hatred of Titans stems from the Colossal Titan, serving as school principal, stealing his cheeseburger lunch in middle school. This event fuels his singular goal to eliminate all Titans from the school, frequently driving him to break rules and start confrontations.

Eren possesses a hot-blooded and impulsive personality, often charging into danger without a plan. His recklessness leads to comedic mishaps, like accidentally stealing a Titan student's gym shorts and inadvertently sniffing them, causing deep embarrassment. Though abrasive, he shows fierce loyalty to close friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, becoming highly protective when they face threats or distress, while usually dismissing Mikasa's safety concerns. Academically unexceptional, he compensates with fierce determination, ranking fifth in his class through relentless effort.

His school life involves constant conflict, particularly with rival Jean Kirstein, fueled by competition for Mikasa's attention and clashing Titan ideologies. A notable rivalry develops with Annie Leonhart, who shares his cheeseburger love but initially resents him for publicly declaring it his favorite food, embarrassing her. Their relationship shifts from hostility to mutual respect after a dodgeball match where Eren spares her defeat and apologizes, leading to occasional shared lunches that trigger Mikasa's jealousy.

Eren joins the unauthorized Survey Club, disguised as the Wall Beautification Club, to combat Titan influence. Activities include cleaning windows and scaling walls using omni-directional mobility gear, which he initially struggles with. Club missions parody events from the main series, like investigating Titan graffiti or competing in athletic events against upperclassmen like Levi. These competitions sometimes impose high stakes, such as losers attending dances with Titan students.

Across media, his portrayal remains consistent. The manga shows him rallying classmates against Titan bullies on field trips and coordinating efforts to retrieve stolen lunches. The anime streamlines gags, replacing the gym shorts theft with chaotic first-day encounters and adding original sequences like a cultural festival where he helps reclaim a cheeseburger stand from Titans. The sequel manga, *Attack on Titan: High School*, depicts him with longer hair, a mustache, and goatee, continuing his anti-Titan crusade in high school.
