Description
Akira Fudo, known as Devilman, is a character from Go Nagai's manga who appears in the crossover film *Mazinger Z vs. Devilman*. In this non-canonical story, Devilman forms an alliance with Koji Kabuto and Mazinger Z to confront a joint assault from Dr. Hell's mechanical beasts and the Demon Clan. Dr. Hell himself engineers this coalition, freeing the demon generals Zannin and Sirene from captivity as part of a pact to destroy their common foes.
Devilman's involvement begins when he covertly observes the initial meeting between Dr. Hell and the demons in the Himalayas. He later tries to alert Koji Kabuto to the looming danger, but their first meeting turns into a rivalry, culminating in a motorcycle race after Devilman taunts Mazinger Z's lack of flight capability. After further conflicts and misunderstandings, Devilman and Mazinger Z unite. Devilman is subsequently captured and tortured by the demons, requiring a rescue by Mazinger Z, which is now outfitted with a new Jet Scrander flight unit. The combined force of Devilman and Mazinger Z leads them to destroy the demonic flying fortress Navalon and drive back Dr. Hell and Baron Ashura. The film ends with Devilman and Koji Kabuto parting on friendly terms.
