Description
"Devilman TV" is a 1972 anime series based on Go Nagai's manga "Devilman." The story centers on Akira Fudo, a timid and compassionate high school student whose life changes drastically when his childhood friend, Ryo Asuka, reveals the existence of demons. Ryo explains that demons, ancient beings of immense power, are reawakening and threatening humanity. To combat them, Ryo proposes a dangerous plan: Akira must merge with a demon to gain its powers while retaining his human soul, thus becoming a Devilman.

Akira undergoes the transformation by fusing with the demon Amon, a powerful and ruthless entity. Despite the fusion, Akira's humanity prevails, allowing him to wield Amon's strength for good. As a Devilman, Akira battles various demons that emerge to wreak havoc on the world. These demons often possess humans, leading to tragic and grotesque confrontations. Akira's dual nature as both human and demon becomes a central theme, as he struggles to protect humanity while grappling with the darker aspects of his newfound abilities.

Ryo, who remains a mysterious and enigmatic figure, aids Akira in his battles but harbors secrets of his own. Over time, it is revealed that Ryo is not entirely human and has a deeper connection to the demonic forces than initially disclosed. This revelation adds complexity to their relationship and the overarching conflict.

The series explores themes of identity, morality, and the duality of good and evil. Akira's journey is marked by his unwavering determination to protect humanity, even as he faces increasingly powerful and malevolent demons. The narrative is episodic in structure, with each episode typically featuring a new demon threat, while gradually building toward a larger, more interconnected storyline.

Supporting characters, such as Akira's love interest Miki Makimura and her family, provide emotional stakes and highlight the human cost of the demonic invasion. Miki, in particular, represents the innocence and purity that Akira strives to protect, serving as a moral anchor amidst the chaos.

The series concludes with a climactic battle that underscores the high stakes of Akira's mission and the enduring struggle between humanity and demonic forces. "Devilman TV" is notable for its blend of action, horror, and philosophical undertones, offering a foundational narrative that has influenced subsequent adaptations and works within the genre.

1The Demon Tribe Revived
In the Himalayas,Demon Lord Zennon orders three demons to battle for the right to possess a human body. The warrior Devilman defeats his rivals Rerasu and Daruni and claims the body of Akira Fudo, a young man who perished nearby alongside his father. Zennon instructs Devilman to assume Akira's identity and spread chaos among humanity. Devilman travels to Japan and re-enters Akira's life, staying with the Makimura family and meeting Akira's childhood friend Miki. The demon finds himself unable to carry out his destructive mission, instead growing attached to Miki and her family. Demon Henka, a shapeshifter, confronts Akira for his inaction and threatens to expose his betrayal to Zennon. Henka attacks the Makimura home, using illusions to terrify Miki and her younger brother Tare. Henka abducts Miki and transforms into a giant elephant-like creature, destroying part of the house. When Miki's father attempts to intervene, Henka knocks him aside. Akira transforms into Devilman to protect Miki, his knee wound from a previous fall expanding with his demon form. The two demons engage in aerial combat until Devilman severs Henka's wings with his claws. Henka shifts into a serpent and drags Devilman underwater, where he reveals his true multi-headed form. Devilman incinerates Henka with his Devil Beam. After the battle, Miki embraces Akira, expressing fear of losing him. Akira resolves to defend her from further demon attacks, solidifying his break from the Demon Tribe. Zennon, learning of Devilman's betrayal, prepares to send new assassins.
2Demon Sirene
Sirene arrives in the human world under orders from the demon leader Xenon. She seeks out Akira Fudo, the human fused with the demon Amon. Sirene discovers that Devilman has developed an attachment to a human girl. This attachment enrages Sirene, who views it as a betrayal of the demon tribe. She begins hunting both Akira and those close to him. Akira confronts Sirene in a violent battle that tests the limits of his hybrid form. The fight forces Akira to reconcile his human emotions with the demonic power he wields. Sirene demonstrates her superior aerial abilities, pushing Devilman to the edge of defeat. Akira ultimately taps into Amon's full ferocity to turn the tide against her. The victory leaves him physically drained but reinforces his resolve to protect humanity. The episode ends with Xenon observing the outcome and preparing to send more powerful demons to eliminate Devilman.
3Demon Gelge
Xen dispatches the demon Gelge to eliminate Devilman, who now protects humanity. Gelge targets Miki Makimura, using her as bait to draw out Akira Fudo. Akira transforms into Devilman to confront Gelge and defend Miki from the attack. The battle forces Akira to balance his duty as a protector with the personal risk of exposing his identity. Miki grows frustrated with Akira’s increasingly erratic behavior and frequent absences, sensing he is hiding something. The fight against Gelge pushes Devilman to his limits, demonstrating the growing power of the demons Xen sends. After a violent clash, Devilman manages to defeat Gelge, temporarily halting the immediate threat. Xen observes the failure from his domain and begins planning a stronger assault on the hybrid warrior. The victory reinforces Akira’s resolve but also deepens the rift between his human life and his secret war. Miki’s suspicion and concern for Akira intensify, adding tension to their relationship. Xen prepares to deploy a more formidable general to ensure Devilman’s destruction.
4Demon General Zannin
Demon General Zannin assumes command of the mission to eliminate Devilman and conquer humanity. He travels to Japan with the demon Vetra, who deploys mind-controlling spiders to subjugate the human population. Vetra uses the spiders to seize control of a city district, turning ordinary citizens into an army under the demons' command. Akira Fudo confronts this growing threat as Devilman, facing a dual challenge: the mindless human puppets and the two demons directing them. The episode depicts Devilman fighting through the controlled humans to reach Vetra. After defeating Vetra and disrupting the mind-control web, Devilman turns his attention to Zannin. The confrontation establishes Zannin as a more calculating and formidable adversary than previous demon attackers. Unlike earlier demons who relied on brute force, Zannin demonstrates tactical patience, using Vetra to test Devilman's capabilities before engaging directly. The battle concludes without a decisive victory for either side, as Zannin retreats to reassess his strategy. The episode closes with Zannin observing Devilman from the shadows, signaling a sustained campaign against the protagonist rather than a single confrontation.
5The Sleeping Beauty Zoldova
A new student named Himura Iwao arrives at Nakado Academy and challenges Akira to a race. During the race, the two boys stumble upon a cave where they discover a sleeping woman. The woman, identified as Lita, is revealed to be a member of the Demon Tribe who previously sympathized with humans. Her prolonged slumber in the cave stems from her past alignment with humanity against her own kind. The discovery forces Akira to confront the presence of a demon who chose peace over conflict with humans. Himura's challenge and the cave discovery introduce a character whose existence complicates the simple division between demons and humans. Lita's history as a human sympathizer provides Akira with a concrete example of a demon who rejected the Demon Tribe's mission of conquest. Her dormant state raises questions about whether other demons might hold similar sympathies or whether her fate serves as a warning. The encounter leaves Akira with new knowledge about the diversity of allegiances within the Demon Tribe. Himura's actions during the race suggest his own motives may extend beyond mere competition with Akira. The episode establishes a turning point where Akira must weigh his assumptions about demons against the reality of one who chose humanity. The immediate consequence of the discovery positions Akira to reconsider the nature of his enemies and his own hybrid existence as Devilman.
6The Head of Rokfel
Miki Makimura's father works to reconstruct the facial features from a skull of a young woman who died two hundred years ago. The skull belongs to a demon named Rokfel, who animates it once the reconstruction is complete. Rokfel begins wreaking havoc across the city to force Devilman into a confrontation. The demon targets densely populated areas, causing widespread panic and destruction. Akira Fudo transforms into Devilman to intercept Rokfel before the demon can cause more casualties. The battle takes Devilman through the city streets as Rokfel uses the skull's mobility to evade capture. Devilman eventually corners the demon and destroys the animated skull. With Rokfel defeated, the immediate threat to the city ends. The episode closes with the Makimura family recovering from the ordeal while Akira remains vigilant for the next demon attack.
7The Terrifying Puppet Emissary Zulu
Zulu,a puppeteer demon, crafts intricate clay puppets and delights in their destruction. He obtains a photograph of Miki Makimura and begins constructing a puppet in her likeness. The demon Abil joins Zulu in setting their sights on Miki as their target. Zulu uses his puppets to stalk and terrorize Miki, attempting to capture her. Akira Fudo transforms into Devilman to intercept the demonic threat and protect Miki. Devilman confronts Zulu directly, engaging him in battle to prevent the puppet from claiming his target. The fight forces Zulu to retreat or be destroyed, ending his immediate assault on Miki. Akira remains vigilant, knowing that demons continue to target those close to him. The episode demonstrates the persistent danger Miki faces as a known associate of Devilman. Zulu's defeat does not eliminate the Demon Tribe's broader campaign against humanity. The next episode introduces new demons, Iyamon and Bauu, who continue the pursuit of Miki.

9Go to Hell - You Mortals
Ryo's televised broadcast exposes Akira as a demon, turning public fear into violent paranoia. Wamu and his gang initially draw guns on Akira but relent, asking him to leave the Makimura household. Wamu and Gabi choose to stay with Miki and Miko, while Hie and Babo betray the group by leading a mob to the house. The mob, convinced the residents are demons in disguise, sets the Makimura home on fire. Wamu and Gabi are killed defending the property. Miko sacrifices herself, revealing her Devilman form to hold off the attackers while Miki escapes on foot. Pursued by the mob, Miki is caught, slashed across the back, and killed off-screen. Meanwhile, Akira searches for Ryo and encounters a mob stoning innocent people. He convinces the crowd to stop, only to watch Koda and other demons slaughter them moments later. Akira escapes Koda and rushes back to the Makimura residence, realizing his feelings for Miki along the way. He arrives to find the mob parading around the burning house with the dismembered bodies of his friends. Akira sees Miki's head displayed on a pike and mentally breaks down. Horrified by the mob's gleeful savagery, he denounces them as the true demons and incinerates everyone present. During the pursuit,Devilman’s attack misses the demon and strikes Miki’s father instead. The man collapses from the accidental blow. Miki discovers her injured father and sees Akira nearby. She confronts Akira directly, her anger and pain erupting. Akira tries to explain but cannot reveal his demon nature to justify the accident. Miki refuses to listen, her trust in him shattering. The argument escalates into a complete breakdown of their relationship. Miki walks away, leaving Akira alone to face the consequences of his actions. The rift between them leaves Akira more isolated than ever, and the demon threat remains unresolved.
12Episode 12
The demon Xannin escalates his mission against Devilman by summoning two additional demons: the fire-wielding Firam and the monstrous Aguilar. Firam accompanies Aguilar to support Xannin in the field. Devilman confronts the pair, engaging Firam in combat that tests his abilities against the demon’s flame-based attacks. Aguilar joins the assault, forcing Devilman to divide his attention between multiple opponents. Despite the combined threat, Devilman overcomes both Firam and Aguilar through sustained offense. Xannin observes the battle and, seeing his subordinates fall, steps forward to engage Devilman directly. The confrontation shifts to a one-on-one duel between Xannin and Devilman, setting aside the earlier skirmish. Xannin employs his full power in an attempt to eliminate Devilman once and for all. The episode concludes with the outcome of their personal battle left unresolved. Xannin’s direct involvement marks a strategic turning point, bringing the demon general into a decisive clash with his target. The next conflict begins as Xannin, having committed to personal combat, continues his pursuit without further intermediaries.
13The Proud Mermaim
Xenon dispatches the demon Mermaim to assist Zannin in his fight against Devilman. Mermaim refuses to fight alongside Zannin and casts a spell to imprison him, preventing his interference. She then appears at the Makimura family’s vacation spot and attacks them with a massive wave. Mermaim traps Akira and the Makimura family inside giant pearl shells. The shells threaten to turn them all into human pearls. Akira waits until Miki loses consciousness from the ordeal and transforms into Devilman. He begins fighting to escape from the pearl shell prison. During the battle, Mermaim discovers Miki, who remains unconscious and vulnerable. Akira’s fight to protect the Makimura family forces him into a direct confrontation with the proud sea demon. Mermaim’s attack leaves Miki severely injured, requiring immediate surgery. Akira, consumed by rage against the demons, decides to leave the human world after confirming Miki’s survival. He resolves to hunt down Zannin and Xenon, intending to kill them both and as many demons as he can.

He swears to kill Xannin, kill the demon leader Xenon, and destroy as many demons as possible for as long as his strength holds. Akira flies to the Himalayas to confront Xenon and settle the conflict with the Demon Tribe once and for all. Upon arriving at the demon stronghold, he finds the entire Tribe has vacated the area. Instead of Xenon, the human associate Himura appears before Akira. Himura then drops his disguise and finally reveals his true identity as a demon. The revelation forces Akira to confront an enemy far closer to him than any he has faced before.
15妖獣エバイン千本の腕
A series of violent incidents erupt across the city where citizens lose control of their arms, attacking others against their will. Each perpetrator reports seeing an armless woman inside a mirror before the assault. Akira Fudo identifies the demon Evine as the cause of these possessions. Evine, a centaur-type demon with horns, uses mirrors as a medium to manipulate human limbs remotely. Akira tracks Evine to a prestigious academy where she hides within reflective surfaces. He successfully forces her out of a mirror, interrupting her control over the victims. Evine retreats from the confrontation and reports to Demon General Muzan, who has assumed command following previous defeats. Muzan rewards Evine with a mirror imbued with dark magical power to strengthen her abilities. The new mirror grants Evine greater control, allowing her to resume her attacks with amplified force. Akira transforms into Devilman to counter the enhanced threat, recognizing that defeating Evine now requires destroying the enchanted mirror itself. Muzan’s direct involvement signals a new phase of the demon assault with a more powerful general leading the offensive.
16Yami ni sumu yōjū Jenī
A meteor shower fills the night sky,but only children witness a glowing red star among the falling meteors. The red star triggers nightmares in which a beautiful woman’s severed head appears and commands the children to gather beneath the red star at midnight. Under the demon’s influence, the children leave their beds and walk like sleepwalkers toward a deep river. The demon Psycho Jenny orchestrates the mass suicide to drown the children. Akira Fudo discovers the possessed children marching toward the water and realizes a demon is controlling them. He transforms into Devilman to confront the hidden threat. Akira transforms into Devilman to confront the Stamp Demon, Dagon, and protect his friends from the unleashed creatures. The battle requires Devilman to defeat the demon and destroy the source of the animated stamps. After the fight, the immediate danger to the children subsides. Witnessing the escalating chaos, Akira grows suspicious that Mayako is not an ordinary human. He investigates her activities and observes her unusual influence over others. His suspicions are confirmed when Mayako reveals her true nature as a demon. Devilman confronts Mayako to stop her from causing further harm to the townspeople. Their battle exposes the supernatural source of her allure and brings the immediate threat to an end. However, the aftermath leaves the community shaken by the manipulation and loss caused by the demon's presence.
19大魔王ザンニン現る
The demon Zannin creates an exact replica of a human city using illusion magic to lure people into a trap. Akira Fudo and Miki Makimura travel to the site after hearing rumors of a newly built town that appeared overnight. They find the streets populated by motionless figures that vanish when touched, revealing the city as a hollow construct. Zannin materializes and announces his intention to harvest human souls to bolster the demon army’s ranks. Akira transforms into Devilman, shedding his human guise to confront the demon directly. Zannin warps the city’s architecture, turning buildings into weapons and creating duplicates of himself to disorient his opponent. Devilman withstands the assault by focusing on the demon’s true energy signature rather than the illusions. He destroys the central tower that anchors the mirage, causing the entire city to dissolve into mist. Zannin attempts to retreat through a dimensional rift, but Devilman pursues and strikes him with the Double Blast attack, reducing the demon to ash. The surviving humans who had entered the city regain consciousness outside the illusion’s range. Miki expresses lingering fear over how easily the deception nearly claimed them. A distant demon, having observed the battle, turns away to report Devilman’s growing strength to a superior, setting the stage for a more coordinated assault.
20Farewell - Demon Drango
A new transfer student named Tomita enrolls at Nakado Academy and quickly shows interest in Miki. Akira observes Tomita’s attention toward her and perceives him as a rival. At the same time,Chaco is found transformed into an ice sculpture under mysterious circumstances. Akira investigates the strange phenomenon and grows suspicious that Tomita is connected to the incident. His suspicion arises from Tomita’s coincidental arrival and the unnatural nature of Chaco’s condition. Akira begins to monitor Tomita closely, suspecting he may not be an ordinary student. The episode establishes a direct conflict between Akira’s protective instincts and the new student’s presence. Akira prepares to uncover the truth behind both the ice sculpture and Tomita’s true identity.
21妖獣ドローは人間が好き
The demon Doro takes liquid form and dissolves humans into blood, leaving only severed heads with melted faces. It infiltrates a city by disguising itself as a woman, then sheds its disguise to attack. Doro also mixes with clouds and falls as rain, dissolving people on contact. Any remaining fragment allows it to regenerate, making conventional attacks useless. Akira Fudo struggles to find a way to defeat an enemy that can reconstruct itself from any piece left behind. Miki Makimura’s mother provides a crucial observation about volcanic eruptions, giving Akira the idea to use extreme heat. Akira lures Doro to gather all its fragments by collecting them himself, tricking the demon into consolidating its body. He then hurls the assembled Doro into a submarine volcano, triggering an eruption that incinerates the demon completely. The episode uses a blood-soaked room to heighten the horror of Doro’s attacks, though a comedic moment with a character named Alphonne interrupts the tension. The male characters stare when a possessed woman undresses, adding an unexpected moment of levity. With Doro destroyed, Akira and his allies brace for the next demonic threat that the Demon Tribe will send.
22Demon Mughal: The Illusionist
Alphonne and Principal Pochi report seeing Akira push Miki into a river the previous night. They insist the event occurred under a bright moon. Akira counters that no moon was present that night, exposing a discrepancy in their account. He concludes a demon manipulated their perceptions with illusions. Akira evades the police to search for Miki on his own. He locates Miki wandering through the city in a dazed, trance-like state. Her condition confirms the demon's involvement and deepens the mystery of her disappearance. Akira realizes the demon, Mughal, uses illusions to sow discord and isolate its targets. He must now find a way to break the demon's hold without harming the innocent Miki. The confrontation shifts from proving his innocence to countering Mughal's deceptive powers directly.
23Episode 23
A series of violent outbursts erupts across the city, with ordinary citizens suddenly attacking others without warning. Police investigations find no common motive among the assailants. Akira and Miki witness one such attack and suspect demonic influence after sensing a faint demonic presence. They trace the incidents to a woman named Jenny, who carries an ornate pistol. When Akira confronts her, Jenny fires the weapon, revealing it as the Psycho Gun, which projects psychic waves that override human will. Akira transforms into Devilman to resist the mind control, but Jenny uses the gun to turn nearby civilians into hostile puppets. Devilman evades their attacks while attempting to reach the demon. He destroys the Psycho Gun with a focused blast, breaking its hold over the victims. Jenny reverts to her demon form and engages Devilman in direct combat, but he defeats her. As the immediate threat ends, a group of demons observing from the shadows acknowledges Devilman’s strength and resolves to launch a more coordinated assault on him and his allies.
24Episode 24

Demon General Muxan, frustrated by repeated failures against Devilman, decides to confront his enemy directly. He transports Nakado Academy and everyone inside into a separate, otherworldly dimension. Akira Fudo watches as Muxan traps his classmates and Miki Makimura within this alternate reality. Muxan unleashes his power to control the dimension, turning the school environment hostile. Students find themselves isolated and unable to escape the general's grip. Akira transforms into Devilman to challenge Muxan directly within the constructed realm. The battle forces Devilman to navigate a space entirely under Muxan's control. Muxan uses the dimension's shifting nature to launch surprise attacks. Devilman struggles to locate the source of Muxan's power amidst the chaos. He eventually uncovers the core of the general's dimensional manipulation. The ensuing clash destroys the alternate dimension and frees the captive students. Muxan retreats after his plan collapses, leaving the school in ruins. With the general still at large, Devilman faces the certainty of further retaliatory strikes from the demon forces.
26The Silver Demon - Lala
Akira Fudo joins his friends on a ski trip in the mountains. Demons Dodo and Lala ambush and capture Akira during the excursion. The demons imprison Akira while Dodo assumes Akira’s physical form through transformation. Dodo returns to the group disguised as Akira with the intent to kill each of Akira’s companions one by one. The impersonation places Miki Makimura and the others in immediate danger without their knowledge. Akira struggles inside his confinement to break free and warn his friends of the deception. The episode pits Akira’s effort to escape against Dodo’s calculated attacks on the unsuspecting group. Lala’s ice-based powers support Dodo’s scheme and reinforce the demonic threat in the snowy setting. Devilman eventually confronts the two demons to reclaim his identity and protect the humans. The confrontation concludes with the defeat of the immediate demonic threat, but the Demon Tribe’s broader campaign continues. Following the battle, the demon lord Xenon appoints Marshall Lacock to lead new operations, setting the stage for further attacks.
27Episode 27
Demon Lord Xenon appoints Demon Marshall Lacock to lead operations against Devilman, transferring command to a new strategist. Lacock assumes control of the demon forces previously managed by other generals. In a separate development, the snow demon Lala attempts to escape from the insane asylum where she was confined. She seeks freedom from the institution, though her exact motivations remain unclear. Xenon’s decision to elevate Lacock signals an escalation in the demon tribe’s tactics. Lacock’s methods differ from prior commanders, introducing more systematic planning. Lala’s escape attempt creates potential disruption for both humans and demons. Her actions intersect with Devilman’s ongoing efforts to protect Miki and counter demon incursions. The episode establishes Lacock as a recurring threat who deploys subordinates in subsequent missions. Lala’s flight from custody sets the stage for her continued involvement in the conflict.
28Demon Miniyon - the Devil's Pendant
Demon Marshall Lacock assumes command of operations from Demon Lord Xenon and deploys her second servant,Miniyon, to attack the human world. Miniyon spreads his special pendant across the city, leaving it in places where people will find it. Anyone who touches the pendant instantly shrinks to a fraction of their original size. The demon’s goal is to create chaos and lure Devilman into a trap through these random, terrifying attacks. At the same time, Lala, the snow demon who previously attempted to escape an asylum, seeks out Akira Fudo. She makes repeated advances on him, attempting to seduce him despite his clear annoyance and rejection. Her efforts create a parallel distraction that complicates Akira’s ability to focus on the growing pendant threat. As citizens fall victim to Miniyon’s shrinking pendants, panic spreads through the city, forcing Devilman to hunt for the demon before more people disappear. Akira’s refusal of Lala’s advances leaves her frustrated, setting up further tension between them. The episode establishes Lacock as a more methodical threat, using subordinates like Miniyon to weaken humanity through psychological terror rather than direct force. With Miniyon still at large and Lala’s motives unresolved, the pressure on Akira to protect the city continues to mount.
29Demon Kenetos - the Mysterious Necklace
Cursed necklaces appear beside sleeping residents across Japan during the night. The demon Kenetos creates these accessories to trap human victims. Individuals who wear the necklaces lose their heads, which disappear into Kenetos's alternate dimension. Akira's teacher, Alphonne, falls victim to the scheme and wanders the school grounds without a head. Akira follows the headless Alphonne to the school and discovers a large ring formed by linked necklaces. He passes through the ring and enters Kenetos's realm. Inside the demon's dimension, Akira confronts Kenetos to recover the stolen heads. The battle tests Akira's ability to fight while navigating the demon's spatial manipulation. Kenetos uses the realm's shifting properties to gain an advantage. Akira transforms into Devilman and struggles to maintain his bearings against the disorienting environment. The outcome determines whether the victims, including Alphonne, can return to normal or remain trapped forever.
30Episode 30
The demon Phizele appears and conceals itself in the upper atmosphere beyond the reach of Devilman’s Devil Eye. From this position,Phizele projects its shadow over the city. Anyone who enters this shadow loses all reason and restraint, becoming violently aggressive. Civilians turn on one another, abandoning their humanity to give in to beastly impulses. Miki, Lala, Tare, and Miyo find themselves surrounded and must defend against the wave of crazed people. Devilman cannot directly attack Phizele due to its extreme altitude, leaving him unable to stop the source of the chaos. Phizele remains confident in its strategy, believing no one can counter its power. However, a single person proves immune to the shadow’s mind-controlling effects, creating an unforeseen complication for the demon. While the group struggles to survive on the ground, this anomaly presents a potential weakness in Phizele’s otherwise flawless plan. Devilman must find a way to exploit this exception or reach the demon before the entire city descends into irreversible madness.
31Demon Kilskey - the Crimson Tornado
Demon Marshall Lacock dispatches Kilskey to kill Lala. Kilskey arrives in Japan and locates Lala but reconsiders his direct orders. He determines that killing Lala outright would not satisfy Lacock's deeper goal of eliminating Devilman. Kilskey decides to use Lala as bait to lure Devilman into a trap. He plans to capture Lala and force Devilman to come to her rescue, setting up an ambush. Lala finds herself targeted not only by Kilskey but also by her own kind who view her as a failure. She struggles to survive while Devilman searches for her location. Devilman discovers Kilskey's scheme and confronts the demon to free Lala. The battle between Devilman and Kilskey hinges on the demon's ability to generate tornado-force winds. Devilman must overcome Kilskey's aerial attacks to prevent Lala from being killed. After defeating Kilskey, Devilman rescues Lala from the trap. Lacock learns of Kilskey's failure and continues plotting against both Devilman and the disgraced Lala.
32The Demon Aurora - The Shining Prison
Demon Marshall Lacock orders the ice demon Aurora to kill her best friend,Lala. Aurora, bound by loyalty to Lacock, accepts the mission and confronts Lala. Lala, who previously attempted to betray the demon tribe, finds herself isolated and hunted by her own kind. The two former friends engage in a battle that forces Lala to rely on her own abilities without support. Aurora uses her power to create a prison of light, trapping Lala and attempting to freeze her solid. Lala breaks free and retaliates, but hesitates to strike a fatal blow against her friend. Aurora exploits that hesitation, pressing her attack under Lacock's orders. The fight concludes with Aurora defeated, but Lala suffers wounds that leave her vulnerable. Lacock observes the outcome and reassigns more lethal demons to finish what Aurora started. Lala escapes with her life but loses her last remaining connection within the demon hierarchy. The order to eliminate Lala remains in effect, placing her in greater danger with no allies left to defend her.
33Episode 33
34Demon Alron - The Terrifying Dress
The Demon Marshall’s injuries at Devilman’s hands prompt Demon Alron to travel to Japan with orders to eliminate the hybrid warrior. In another location, the ice demon Lala grows frustrated with her own perceived stupidity and seeks a remedy for her condition. She approaches Akira Fudo, who responds by cruelly suggesting that only death can cure her foolishness. Taking his words literally, Lala attempts to take her own life but fails in the act. Her despair transforms into reckless resolve, and she charges directly into Alron’s path as the demon closes in on his target. Alron, focused on hunting Devilman, suddenly finds himself confronted by Lala’s suicidal assault. The two demons engage in a violent clash, with Lala sacrificing herself to wound Alron before falling. Alron’s advance toward Akira slows only after he suffers damage from the unexpected confrontation. Akira witnesses the cost of his harsh words as Lala’s self-destruction buys him a momentary reprieve. The battle lines redraw as Alron, undeterred, refocuses his rage on Devilman for the mounting losses inflicted upon the demon command.
35Demon Marshal Lacock - the Frozen Academy
Demon Marshall Lacock mourns the death of Alron, who perished in a previous confrontation with Devilman. Grieving and defying the orders of the Demon Lord Xenon, Lacock travels to the city to confront Akira Fudo directly. She activates her temporal powers, freezing the flow of time across the entire city. All inhabitants except Akira and the snow demon Lala fall into a suspended trance, leaving the two as the only active beings in the frozen urban landscape. Akira transforms into Devilman to face this new threat. Lala, who has previously allied with Akira, chooses to fight alongside him against Lacock. The three engage in a direct battle while the rest of the city remains immobile and unaware of the conflict. The episode concludes with the defeat of Demon Marshall Lacock, removing one of the major commanders sent by Xenon. The immediate aftermath sets the stage for further retaliation from the Demon Tribe, with Lacock’s forces eliminated but the danger to Akira and his allies far from over.
36The Demon Magdora, The Flying Lava
37Demon Wooddou - The Enraged Greenery
Demon Wooddou emerges to attack humanity by taking control of trees and turning the surrounding greenery into a weapon. The demon uses its arboreal powers to trap civilians and assault them with animated plant life. Akira Fudo confronts Wooddou and transforms into Devilman to combat the threat. During the ensuing battle,Akira undergoes his demonic transformation while Tare, the younger brother of Miki Makimura, watches from a hidden position. Tare witnesses the full fusion of man and monster, discovering that Akira Fudo and Devilman are the same being. The battle against Wooddou intensifies as the demon attempts to overwhelm Devilman with its control over the surrounding vegetation. Akira defeats Wooddou but cannot undo the immediate consequence of Tare’s discovery. The young boy now carries the secret of Akira’s dual identity, creating a new vulnerability for the protagonist. Tare’s knowledge of the truth places him in potential danger, as demon forces have previously targeted those close to Akira. The episode concludes with the uncertainty of whether Tare will keep this secret or reveal it to others in the Makimura household.
38Demon Dremoon - The Moon is Hell
The moon draws closer to Earth, and the increased gravitational force generates massive tidal waves that sweep from west to east across the globe. In Japan, the surrounding seas recede and vanish entirely. Akira realizes that the gravity-manipulating demon Dremoon is responsible for the phenomenon. He understands that if the next full moon arrives, humanity will be pulled into space. Akira searches frantically for Dremoon to stop the disaster but cannot locate the demon anywhere. The episode follows his urgent, city-wide hunt against a countdown measured by the approaching lunar phase. The environmental devastation serves as a visible measure of Dremoon's growing power. Akira faces the pressure of an invisible enemy capable of ending human life on a planetary scale. The inability to find his target leaves him with no clear course of action as time runs out. The looming threat of the next full moon sets the stage for a direct confrontation that Akira must win to save the world.
39Demon God - The Miracles of God
Zenon summons the demon God from the icy demon realm after Devilman defeats all other demons. Strange phenomena begin occurring worldwide: the Tower of Babel appears at Haneda Airport,a sphinx walks through the city, a waterfall materializes over the sea causing a ship to explode, and rocks fall from the sky to derail a bullet train. Akira realizes only Zenon's Captain of the Guard, the demon God, possesses such power. God appears in Akira's room and threatens to reveal Akira's identity to Miki unless he does not interfere. God summons additional disasters including a carnosaur in Hibiya Park, a sauropod rising from the water, and military forces proving powerless against the attacks. Akira watches the destruction from his window, torn between protecting his secret and stopping the devastation. When God traps Miki's younger brother Tare and his friend Miyo near a burning oil sphere, Akira transforms into Devilman to rescue them, breaking his agreement with God. God confronts Devilman and Miki, revealing Akira's true nature as a demon. Miki refuses to believe God's claim and accepts Akira regardless. The two combatants engage in an aerial battle using their respective Cutter, Arrow, and Beam attacks before crashing to the ground. With Miki's encouragement, Akira grabs God, ascends into the sky, and destroys him with a Devil Beam. After the battle, Miki tells Akira his external form does not matter because his inner self remains unchanged. The narrator states that while Devilman has won this battle, Zenon still commands many demons and Devilman's battle continues.
