Runo Misaki is a Haos-attribute brawler in the Battle Brawlers, partnered primarily with Haos Tigrerra, which evolves into Blade Tigrerra. She helps her parents run a family restaurant and shows jealousy when Alice Gehabich draws more customers, especially males. Runo and Dan Kuso met as children but didn't recognize each other until later.
Headstrong and competitive, Runo has a quick temper that flares when her brawling skills are underestimated because she's a girl. She often argues with Dan Kuso and Julie Makimoto due to her stubborn need for control and attention. Yet, she remains loyal, kind, and tirelessly supportive of friends. Her growth peaks in the Doom Dimension when an illusion of a young Dan teaches her to listen, reducing her stubbornness and evolving Tigrerra. Unspoken romantic feelings for Dan lead to a park date at the end of the first season.
Frustrated by Dan's absence during the New Vestroia conflict, Runo impulsively uses an unstable portal to travel there, arriving without a physical body. This fractures the Resistance and complicates their mission. She returns to Earth with Dan, Baron, and Mira, showing maturity in fewer arguments and shared laughter with Dan. Distressed by being unable to return to New Vestroia without a Gauntlet, she finds solace in Dan's promise to come back. She recovers Blade Tigrerra then. Baron's teasing over childhood photos still provokes a physical reaction, proving her temper remains.
Runo does not directly appear in Gundalian Invaders, except in a flashback and a group photo with Dan and Julie.
She partially returns in Mechtanium Surge. First seen in a nostalgic image Marucho views, she takes over Mira Fermin's tech support role when Mira collapses, having studied Vestal technology. She deploys Battle Suits to help the brawlers fight Spatterix, Stronk, and Wiseman. Temporarily partnered with Haos Aerogan against Wiseman, she and Dan win together before Aerogan leaves. She stays at headquarters during the infiltration of Wiseman's hideout.
Mechtavius Destroyer destroys Bakugan City, killing Runo, Mira, and Julie. Dan, Shun, and Marucho reverse this by using the Current of Time. Afterward, Runo deploys Battle Suits for the final battle and is disappointed when Dan skips the celebration.
She brawls aggressively, preferring direct confrontation to strategy, which sometimes causes problems. Her notable technique is Velocity Fang. Over time, she shifts from frontline brawling to support, taking on more responsibility and less combat.
