Description
Albedo is the Overseer of the Floor Guardians within the Great Tomb of Nazarick, holding supreme authority among its non-player characters. She was created by the guild member Tabula Smaragdina, but her original programming was altered by Momonga, later known as Ainz Ooal Gown, to make her madly in love with him. This change forged her defining trait: an obsessive, unwavering devotion to Ainz that fuels extreme jealousy toward anyone she perceives as a rival for his affection.
Her appearance blends demonic and angelic features: long jet-black hair, golden eyes with vertical slit pupils, curved horns protruding from her temples, and a pair of black angel wings at her waist. She typically wears a pure white dress, white gloves, and a distinctive golden spiderweb necklace. In combat, she dons black full plate armor and wields a battle-axe. As a level one hundred NPC, she specializes in defense, possessing the strongest protection among the Floor Guardians, and wields the World Item Ginnungagap.
Albedo is highly intelligent, articulate, and efficient in her administrative duties, managing the Floor Guardians and coordinating Nazarick’s operations with composure. Beneath this elegant exterior lies a cruel and ruthless nature. She holds humans and other beings outside Nazarick in contempt, viewing them as inferior, and she revels in inflicting despair on enemies. Her loyalty is exclusively to Ainz, not to the other Supreme Beings who abandoned Nazarick, a resentment she secretly harbors. Her rivalry with Shalltear Bloodfallen is marked by frequent verbal clashes over Ainz’s affection, though they can cooperate when necessary.
In crossover settings such as the school environment of Isekai Quartet, she serves as vice class representative and adapts to working alongside characters from other worlds. She shows increased tolerance toward non-Nazarick individuals, collaborates with heroes like Emilia against threats, and develops an unexpected rapport with Aqua after being defended from taunts about her virginity. She also adopts verbal mannerisms from Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti due to their shared obsessive approach to love. In comedic spin-offs like Ple Ple Pleiades, she is reimagined as a corporate manager overseeing other Floor Guardians as department heads, where her romantic pursuit of Ainz and workplace clashes with Shalltear are amplified for humor.
