Description
Eren Yeager was born in Shiganshina District within Wall Maria. His childhood was marked by profound dissatisfaction with life confined behind the walls and an intense fascination with the outside world, ignited by Armin Arlert's book. Witnessing his mother's death during the Titan assault that destroyed Shiganshina transformed his desire for freedom into burning rage, cementing his vow to eradicate all Titans and driving him to enlist in the military with Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert.

Graduating 5th in the 104th Training Corps, Eren faced near-death during the battle of Trost District and first manifested the ability to transform into a 15-meter Titan—the Attack Titan. This power originated from an injection administered by his father, Grisha Yeager, after Wall Maria's fall. Grisha also entrusted Eren with a key to the family basement before vanishing. Eren initially grappled with wielding the power of the beings he despised. His service in the Survey Corps exposed him to betrayal by comrades revealed as Titan shifters from Marley and the harsh corruption within the walls.

Discovering the truth in Grisha’s basement radically reshaped Eren’s worldview. He learned Eldia and Marley’s history, the Titans’ origin, and that humanity beyond the walls viewed Paradis Island’s inhabitants as devils. This revelation shattered his former objective; the true enemy became humanity across the sea. His motivations pivoted to securing Paradis’ freedom and survival by any means necessary.

Eren possessed three Titan powers: inheriting the Attack Titan and Founding Titan from Grisha, and gaining the War Hammer Titan by consuming Lara Tybur during the Raid on Liberio. His appearance evolved from a young soldier with short dark hair and military attire to long-haired and bearded by 854 while infiltrating Marley, injuries hidden under bandages. Later, he wore a white shirt, dark pants, and a black mantle, often tying back his hair. His Titan forms also shifted: the Attack Titan remained consistent, while his Founding Titan form during the Rumbling became a colossal, skeletal entity moving on elongated ribs.

Driven by future memories from the Founding Titan’s power—which revealed past, present, and future simultaneously—Eren deemed extreme measures unavoidable. He initiated the Rumbling, unleashing Wall Titans to annihilate the world beyond Paradis, believing this alone could protect his friends and island. To spare them emotional pain, he deliberately alienated them, telling Mikasa he hated her. Despite orchestrating global destruction, his stated motivation remained securing freedom for those he cherished, viewing his actions as a necessary burden.

His final confrontation unfolded as the Rumbling advanced. Mikasa Ackerman killed Eren by severing his head. In his last moments through the Paths, he shared an alternate reality with Mikasa, expressing a desire for a peaceful life together. After his death, Mikasa buried his head beneath their childhood tree—the same where Ymir Fritz discovered the Titan power’s source. A bird later seen fixing Mikasa’s scarf sparked interpretations of a potential connection to Eren.
