Description
Reiner Braun, an Eldian Warrior from Marley’s Liberio internment zone, is the illegitimate son of an Eldian mother, Karina Braun, and a Marleyan father. Driven by his mother’s ambition to earn honorary Marleyan status, he entered the Warrior Program. Though physically unremarkable, he inherited the Armored Titan at age ten after Marcel Galliard rigged the selection to spare his brother Porco—a choice that burdened Reiner with crushing guilt, amplified when Marcel died saving him during their Paradis Island mission.

At twelve, Reiner joined Bertholdt Hoover, Annie Leonhart, and Marcel in breaching Wall Maria, unleashing catastrophic destruction. Traumatized by Marcel’s death and the mission’s moral weight, he subconsciously adopted Marcel’s persona, masquerading as a steadfast, brotherly figure among the 104th Cadet Corps. This fractured psyche spiraled into dissociative identity disorder following Marco Bodt’s murder, leaving him torn between his ruthless "Warrior" loyalty to Marley and his empathetic "Soldier" bond with Paradis comrades.

Returning to Marley after the failed mission, Reiner emerged emotionally broken, enduring four years of brutal warfare in the Marley Mid-East conflict. Plagued by suicidal urges and survivor’s guilt, his self-hatred deepened upon recognizing Paradis’s people as victims rather than "devils," especially after confronting his role in Carla Yeager’s death. Determined to atone, he vowed to shield younger Warriors Gabi and Falco from inheriting his cursed legacy.

Physically imposing with a broad frame, blond hair, and hazel eyes, Reiner’s appearance by 854 reveals years of strain: gaunt features, a short goatee, and unkempt hair. His 15-meter Armored Titan, clad in white plating with exposed joints, balances defensive might with surprising agility.

A tactical leader, Reiner devises layered strategies under pressure, often sacrificing himself to spare others’ conscience—volunteering to face Yeagerists alone or allying with former enemies to halt Eren’s Rumbling. His relationships mirror his inner duality: he safeguards Ymir’s letter for Historia Reiss despite betraying Paradis, and reconciles with his mother Karina post-Rumbling, finally receiving the acceptance she once withheld.
