Description
Kisaragi Honey, the pampered daughter of a wealthy corporate president, sees her life of luxury shatter overnight when debt collectors force her into sudden poverty. This reversal of fortune sets the stage for her true identity to emerge, as she is not an ordinary heiress but an android created by her late father using the experimental Airborne Element Fixing Device. Known as the Warrior of Love and Justice, Cutie Honey, she takes up her father’s dying wish to combat evil, even as she now navigates a much harsher world.
The series takes place in a contemporary Japanese setting, with much of the action rooted in the modern office environment. Honey finds herself at Kisaragi Technology, the company once owned by her father, which has now been taken over by a ruthless female CEO named Kuroo Hyoko. Hyoko is not merely a corporate raider but a villain with grander ambitions for world domination, making her Honey’s greatest and most personal enemy. To fight back, Honey uses her ability to transform into various professional personas with her iconic cry, Honey Flash, adopting over ten different costumes that range from a professional wrestler to a charismatic host as she battles villainy in different guises.
As Honey goes undercover within the corporate world, she is supported by a small circle of allies. Her best friend, Natsuko Aki, works alongside her inside Kisaragi Technology, acting as a vital support system from within the hostile company. They are also secretly aided by Seiji Hayami, a mysterious newspaper reporter who works to help Honey from the sidelines. Their daily struggles are compounded by the abusive sales manager Miharu Tsuneni, who torments Honey and Natsuko with relentless power harassment, reflecting the series’ engagement with modern social issues. The narrative arc follows Honey as she balances her mission to carry out her father’s will against the schemes of Kuroo Hyoko, culminating in a conflict between the warrior of love and a powerful enemy who has seized everything that was once hers.
