When the housekeeping robot Caret appears unannounced at his front door, college student Ikeda learns he has been randomly selected to participate in her creator's Life Improvement Project. He agrees to let Caret live with him based solely on her appealing appearance, but quickly discovers the truth: this robot cannot be bothered to do any housework at all. The story follows the daily life of a stubborn, chore-avoiding robot and her pervert roommate as they navigate their unusual living arrangement. Set in what appears to be a contemporary Japanese setting with advanced robotics, the manga explores the comedic friction between Ikedas expectations of a helpful domestic robot and Carets defiantly lazy personality. The series was published in four volumes, running from October 2010 to June 2016. Over the course of the narrative, the unlikely pair develops a strange cohabitation rhythm, with Caret consistently failing at or refusing to perform her intended functions while Ikeda deals with the consequences of his impulsive decision based on appearance alone.
