Manga
Description
The story centers on the Game Development Department at Millennium Science School, a prestigious academy in the city of Kivotos. The club consists of three members: Momoi, the energetic writer and director; Midori, the calm illustrator; and Yuzu, the shy programmer who is also a legendary online gamer. Despite their ambitions, the department has only ever produced one notoriously terrible game and faces immediate closure due to a lack of members or results, as enforced by Yuuka, the strict treasurer of the student council.

To save their club, the trio, with the help of their teacher Sensei, ventures into a set of ruins where they discover a dormant robot girl named AL-1S. They activate her and name her Aris. She quickly becomes the department's new member and game tester, bringing the club up to the minimum required size. However, the focus of the manga is not on this dramatic rescue, but on the comedic and chaotic daily life that follows. Each chapter presents a self-contained crisis where the department tries to prove their worth, only to fail in spectacular fashion due to their own poor planning.

In one notable arc, the department unexpectedly earns a large sum of money from a successful game. Instead of managing it wisely, they immediately establish a massive headquarters called GKB, hire numerous employees, and announce a big-budget movie adaptation of their original game. Within a month, the movie becomes a critical and financial disaster, the company goes bankrupt, and employees steal their possessions, leaving the club destitute and deeper in debt. In other episodes, they attempt to raise funds through part-time jobs, each of which turns into a personal disaster for a different member. When they develop a fitness game to promote health, they base the difficulty on the athletic ability of a single student, making the tutorial impossible for normal players to beat.

Throughout these adventures, Aris provides the heart and comedic contrast as a robot learning human emotions through classic video games, often taking metaphorical game concepts literally. Yuuka acts as both antagonist and reluctant savior, frequently arriving to cut their budget or confiscate their luxury purchases, yet also guiding them out of financial ruin. The narrative is a pure slice-of-life comedy where the status quo is absolute. No matter how much money they earn or how elaborate their schemes become, the Game Development Department always returns to their messy club room with empty wallets, preparing for their next grand adventure.
