Description
Komachi Tamamura earned the nickname Princess Goth Chick due to her gloomy behavior in elementary school, an experience that led her to become a hikikomori for three years. Even after entering high school, she continued to refuse to attend classes. In an effort to break her isolation, Komachi's younger sister Chacha sends her a state-of-the-art friendship android. This android is Nanado, whose official designation is Code 7D-0.
Nanado is a bright, optimistic, and meddlesome humanoid designed to seamlessly blend in with humans, capable of everyday activities like talking and eating. While she comes with extraordinary features such as the ability to emit beams from her eyes and fluency in 100 languages, she notably lacks the arithmetic functions required for a high school education. She was delivered to Komachi's home inside a large egg and is designed to be Wi-Fi and USB compatible, allowing for remote maintenance by Chacha.
Despite her wealth and elite status, Komachi is a cynical and proud rich girl who has developed a negative prejudice toward the world based on information she consumed online during her years of seclusion. She is not skilled at sports or studying but excels at delivering sharp tsukkomi (comedic retorts) to the absurd situations around her. She is reluctantly pushed back into society by Nanado's relentless optimism.
The story follows the pair's daily life as Nanado drags Komachi back to school. Over time, their social circle expands to include other classmates like Ruru Yoshioka and Moe Takayama, and Komachi begins to grope her way toward a fun school life, partially due to her involvement with a mobile game app. In Volume 3, the narrative progresses to a school festival arc where the class decides to run a maid cafe, forcing Komachi to confront her embarrassment by wearing a maid costume and dancing on stage. Later, as the seasons turn to spring and the characters advance to the next grade, Komachi faces the new ordeal of class reassignments, which threatens the comfortable dynamic she has finally established.
