Description
Taro Miyao is a celebrated novelist who has modeled his entire life and pragmatic worldview on the Renaissance philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli, believing that the end justifies the means. Despite his professional success, this rigid and calculating man is plagued by a surprisingly mundane problem: chronic stiff shoulders. Convinced that the company of a cat is the most efficient solution, he adopts a feline companion for purely utilitarian reasons. The manga follows Taro as he immediately discovers that pet ownership defies his logical and manipulative approach to life; the cat is an independent, chaotic, and unpredictable force that refuses to be managed. The narrative is a warm, fluffy comedy chronicling the daily clashes and gradual bonding between the Machiavellian author and his new animal roommate. The setting is primarily Taro's home and workspace, where he struggles to maintain his disciplined routine while adapting to the whims of his pet. Notable narrative arcs include Taro’s initial, often failed, attempts to apply strategic principles to cat care, his reluctant discovery of genuine affection and responsibility, and the slow, humorous transformation of his calculated solitude into a chaotic but joyful domestic life.
