Shiro is an unemployed NEET who spends his days sleeping, waking up, playing video games, and sleeping again. Into this lazy routine arrives Kujira, his sister’s young son, who suddenly comes to live with him for reasons not immediately explained. At first Shiro is unsure how to handle a kindergarten-age child, but the two gradually settle into an odd, comfortable coexistence. The story follows their daily life together: Shiro learning to care for someone else, Kujira exploring the world with an innocent curiosity, and the small, warm moments that grow between them. The narrative is a gentle, slice-of-life comedy centered on the mismatched pair – a listless adult and a cheerful preschooler – as they navigate ordinary activities like eating, going outside, and dealing with darkness and light.
