Masumi Yabashi is a 42-year-old salaryman whose daily life is defined by exhaustion and emptiness. At work he is dismissed by his subordinates, he has no romantic partner, and he lacks any real hobbies. One day, while browsing an online auction, he encounters a legendary doll known as the Ether Doll Starlet. Captivated by its delicate appearance and eyes that seem to hold starlight, he impulsively joins the bidding and wins the doll for roughly one million yen. When the package arrives, however, he discovers that only the doll’s head has been delivered. Rather than being discouraged, Masumi decides to complete the doll himself, setting off a journey into the world of doll collecting and customization.
