Sanae, a young woman married for only three months, stumbles upon her husband’s infidelity on their wedding anniversary. Shocked, she falls down a flight of stairs and loses consciousness. When she wakes, she finds herself not in a hospital but in front of a temple in the Edo period—a temple known for severing unwanted marriages. There she is taken in by the temple’s cross-dressing master, a striking figure who dresses as a man, and a group of cheerful, quirky companions. Surrounded by this unlikely community, Sanae gradually rediscovers her smile and begins to rebuild her sense of self. Yet the pull of the modern world remains strong: she is abruptly yanked back to the present, back to the very scene of her husband’s betrayal, forcing her to navigate life in two eras while confronting the pain that started it all.
