Admiring the Showa-era idols she watched on television as a child, Aigasawa Namo pursued a dream of becoming an idol herself, only to find her career stalling as an underground idol in the Reiwa era. Her group dissolves without ever making a name for itself, leaving her disheartened. After visiting a shrine to pray for a change in fortune, she is suddenly swallowed by the ground and transported back in time to a distinctly older-looking Shibuya. There, she encounters the Showa-era idol she has always worshipped, Shikatai Kotono, and begins to grow closer to her. Inspired by Kotono's earnest dedication to her craft, Namo decides to pursue her dream once more and auditions for the same talent agency as Kotono. The story follows Namo as she navigates the unfamiliar entertainment landscape of the Showa period, participating in events like an idol swimsuit competition, confronting the darker side of the industry when a fellow idol rumored to be involved in pillow business attempts to lure Kotono into transferring agencies, and grappling with the meaning of her journey to the past, all while trying to keep her secret that she has come from the future.
