Azumi Asakura is a Japanese voice actress born on February 15, 1987, in Kanagawa Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision and is a graduate of the Japan Narration Acting Institute. Her career began after winning the Columbia Award in the Voice NewType新人Audition2003夏. She made her debut in 2005 voicing Akira Ōkouchi in the anime adaptation of Mahō Sensei Negima! at the age of 16, under her birth name, Azumi Yamamoto. On September 1, 2006, she changed her stage name to Azumi Asakura.
A pivotal moment in Asakura's career came in 2010 when she was announced as the new voice actress for Yukiho Hagiwara in The iDOLM@STER franchise, succeeding Yurina Hase.
