Hiroki Shimowada is a Japanese voice actor, stage actor, and musician born on April 8, 1976, in Mie Prefecture. He began his career in the 1990s, initially working as a stage actor before transitioning to voice acting after graduating from the Japan Narration Acting Institute. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with several talent agencies, including ARTSVISION, 81 Produce, and Office PAC, and is currently represented by Kekke Corporation. In 2010, he changed the spelling of his stage name from his birth name, Hiroki Shimowada (下和田裕貴), to Hiroki Shimowada (下和田ヒロキ).
Shimowada is known for his versatile vocal range, often playing characters that are young, high-pitched, or innocent, but also capable of portraying villains and more mature roles. He has built an extensive filmography across anime, video games, and foreign language dubbing since his debut.
One of his earlier prominent roles was as Toboe, the young and gentle wolf in the 2003 anime series Wolf's Rain. He has had recurring roles in long-running franchises, including multiple characters in the Doraemon anime series and films. In the 2020 film Doraemon: Nobita's New Dinosaur, he provided the voice for the character Top. He also voiced a character in the 2006 Doraemon film, Nobita's Dinosaur 2006.
Shimowada has been the voice of Shiro in the Dochamon Junior series. He has a significant association with the Hiiro no Kakera franchise, voicing the character Shinji Inukai across multiple television anime seasons and video game adaptations. He also voiced Rui Ayase in the NHK anime series The Telepathy Girl Ran and Hakase in Wan Wan Serebu Soreyuke! Tetsunoshin. In the 2012 film Eiga Jewelpet Sweets Dance Princess, he played the antagonist Duke Creme de Brûlée. Another notable anime role is Masatoshi Fukazawa in the 2005 series Gunparade Orchestra.
