Mitsuaki Hoshino is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on February 19, 1959, in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Arts Vision. Hoshino is married to fellow voice actor Yūko Kobayashi.

Before pursuing voice acting as a career, Hoshino studied film directing during his time at university. He later enrolled in the training center for voice actors at Tokyo Animation School to formalize his training. His professional debut in voice acting came in 1985, with one of his earliest roles being Okubo in the television anime series Magical Emi, the Magic Star. In his early career, he was active in a theater company he formed with former classmates.

Over a career spanning several decades, Hoshino has built an extensive filmography, providing voices for a wide variety of characters in anime, video games, and dubbed foreign media. He is known for his versatility, taking on roles ranging from serious authority figures to more comedic characters. He has frequently lent his voice to older male characters.

In anime, some of his notable roles from recent years include Masayoshi Komi, the father of the titular character in Komi Can't Communicate; the Mayor in Beastars; and High Bishop Bezewanst in the Ascendance of a Bookworm series. Other significant roles include Dwight Greenhill in Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, Ryunosuke Murakami in Yomigaeru Sora - RESCUE WINGS, and Bob in Uninhabited Planet Survive!. His career also includes roles in long-running and iconic series such as One Piece, where he voices Magellan; Touch, as Ishigaki and Nagao; and the Brave Police J-Decker, as Dumpson.

Beyond original anime, Hoshino has an extensive career in voice-over, providing the Japanese-language dubbing for numerous foreign films and television series. Notable dubbing roles include Geordi La Forge (played by LeVar Burton) in various Star Trek series and films, and Noah Levenstein (played by Eugene Levy) in the American Pie film series. He also dubbed the character Hamish (Brendan Gleeson) in Braveheart and Fred Haise (Bill Paxton) in Apollo 13. In video games, his voice can be heard in titles such as the Tenchu series and Valkyrie Profile.
