Mitsuaki Hoshino is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on February 19, 1959, in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Arts Vision. Hoshino is married to fellow voice actor Yūko Kobayashi.
Before pursuing voice acting as a career, Hoshino studied film directing during his time at university. He later enrolled in the training center for voice actors at Tokyo Animation School to formalize his training. His professional debut in voice acting came in 1985, with one of his earliest roles being Okubo in the television anime series Magical Emi, the Magic Star. In his early career, he was active in a theater company he formed with former classmates.
Over a career spanning several decades, Hoshino has built an extensive filmography, providing voices for a wide variety of characters in anime, video games, and dubbed foreign media. He is known for his versatility, taking on roles ranging from serious authority figures to more comedic characters. He has frequently lent his voice to older male characters.
