Mayumi Shou is a former Japanese voice actress and current business executive, recognized for her prolific work in anime during the 1980s and 1990s. Born on February 5, 1965, in Tokyo, she began her career in 1984 and quickly became a prominent figure in the industry, known for her bright and expressive vocal performances.

Shou's interest in voice acting was sparked during high school after reading an interview in an anime magazine. Following her graduation, she enrolled in the Aoni Juku voice actor training school, which launched her professional path. She made her debut in 1984 with a role in the television anime Adventures of the Little Koala, where she voiced the character Mimi. Her early career was marked by a rapid succession of roles, establishing her as a fan favorite. A significant breakthrough came when she was cast as the original voice of Chi-Chi in the Dragon Ball series, a role she originated in 1986 and continued in Dragon Ball Z and several related films.

Throughout the latter half of the 1980s, Shou's voice was featured in a wide array of popular OVAs and television series, demonstrating her versatility. Her extensive filmography from this period includes the role of Corona in Space Family Carlvinson, Lina in TWD Express: Rolling Takeoff, Minako Ifu in Bride of Deimos, and Ruka Kobayakawa in Dark Sea, Moon Shadow. She also voiced Mai Yumekanoh in the influential OVA Megazone 23, Kiri Ichido in High School! Kimengumi, and Mimi in Adventures of the Little Koala. In addition to these, she took on roles such as Yuko Kurita in Oishinbo, Ayako in Kimama ni Idol, Mai in Bug tte Honey: Megaromu Shōjo Ma 4622, and Elizabeth "Beth" March in the 1987 anime adaptation Little Women. Her work in the OVA format was particularly extensive, with credits including Nagisa Kanō in Fight! Iczer-One, Mina Katsuki in Crystal Triangle, Yuratei in Hades Project Zeorymer, Fumi in Zoku Kuronekoyakata, and Mina in the Shin Cream Lemon and Cream Lemon series. She also voiced Babi in Kouchuu Ouja Mushiking ~Mori no Tami no Densetsu~ and appeared in Hoshi Neko Fullhouse.

Shou was formerly affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production. After marrying fellow voice actor Keiichi Nanba in 1990, she gradually reduced her workload and eventually stepped back from most voice acting roles in 1992 to focus on family. She made a limited return to regular voice acting in the late 1990s, with roles such as Queen Buretsu in Yume no Crayon Oukoku, and continued to take on occasional parts until around 2007, with appearances in series like Welcome to the N.H.K. and Pretty Cure. Following her retirement from full-time voice acting, Shou transitioned into talent management. She currently serves as a director at Kekke Corporation, where she is involved in developing and managing young voice talent.
