R. Bruce Elliott is an American actor, voice actor, dubbing director, and scriptwriter primarily known for his extensive work on English adaptations of Japanese anime series produced by Funimation. His career in voice acting for anime began in the early 2000s, and he quickly became a recognizable presence in the industry for his distinctive, often authoritative vocal performances.

Elliott's filmography is extensive, featuring a wide array of characters across numerous popular series. One of his most prominent and long-running roles is that of Richard Moore, the bumbling but good-hearted private detective in the long-running series Case Closed, a part he played in the main series, its movies, and specials. He is also well-known for voicing the Third Generation master Makarov Dreyar in Fairy Tail and its sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. In the Dragon Ball franchise, he became the voice of Captain Ginyu, the flamboyant leader of the Ginyu Force, taking over the role for Dragon Ball Z Kai and subsequently reprising it in numerous video games and Dragon Ball Super. Another significant role was Dot Pyxis in the global phenomenon Attack on Titan. He also lent his voice to Edward Newgate, better known as Whitebeard, in the Funimation dub of One Piece.

In addition to these, Elliott voiced a multitude of other characters, demonstrating his range. He played Basque Gran in Fullmetal Alchemist, Shimada Kanbei in Samurai 7, the Narrator in School Rumble, and Szilard Quates in Baccano!. His video game work was equally prolific, most notably reprising Captain Ginyu in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and numerous other titles in the series. He also provided voices for games such as BloodRayne 2, the Orcs Must Die! series, and Smite as Anubis.

Beyond acting, Elliott also contributed to the production of English dubs, taking on roles as a scriptwriter and an ADR director. His directing credits include the series Romeo X Juliet and Corpse Princess.

Elliott maintained a long-standing and productive collaboration with Funimation, the Texas-based entertainment company, for the majority of his anime career. This association led to him working alongside a consistent group of voice actors and directors, becoming a staple in their dubs for over two decades.
