Philipp Schepmann

Philipp Schepmann is a German actor, voice actor, director, and producer, known for his extensive work in dubbing anime and video games, as well as for his narration in audiobooks and documentaries. He studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts from 1989 to 1993 and subsequently performed in theater productions at venues including the Aalto Theatre in Essen and the Schauspiel Köln. Since 1997, he has worked as a freelance speaker and actor.
Within the realm of anime, Schepmann has voiced numerous prominent characters in the German dubs of popular series. He is the German voice of Legato Bluesummers in Trigun, Jean Havoc in both the Fullmetal Alchemist film The Conqueror of Shamballa and the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood series, and Jūshirō Ukitake in Bleach starting from episode 40, a role he also reprised in the film Bleach: Fade to Black. He further voiced Kastro in Hunter x Hunter and took on a minor role in DanMachi. In 2012, he voiced the character Kohsaku Ogata in the German-language version of the OVA Seikimatsu Darling, a production handled by the Cologne-based studios Sparking Entertainment Audioproduktion and Matchville Studios. His work also extends to video games, where he is the long-standing German voice of Shaun Hastings in the Assassin's Creed series and portrays Vernon Roche in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3.
Beyond his dubbing work, Schepmann has an extensive career as an audiobook narrator and producer, having earned a nomination for the German Audiobook Prize in the Best Speaker category in 2006 for his reading of The King of Narnia. He is particularly renowned for his narration of the popular children's book series The Little Dragon Coconut, a role that has made his voice familiar to many young listeners. He has also produced and directed audio productions, including the large-scale project The Great Audio Bible, in which he also performed the role of Jesus.
