Description
"Tari Tari" is a 13-episode anime series set in a high school in modern-day Japan, focusing on a group of students navigating personal challenges while reviving their school choir club. The story centers on Wakana Sakai, a former member of the choir club who quit after a falling out with her music teacher. Wakana struggles with unresolved grief over her mother’s death, which has left her estranged from her passion for music. Her classmate Konatsu Miyamoto, an energetic and determined girl, dreams of forming a new choir club after being excluded from the main school choir due to her lack of experience. Konatsu’s persistence draws Wakana into the group, along with Sawa Okita, a talented equestrian who faces pressure from her father to abandon her dreams of riding professionally.
The group expands to include Taichi Tanaka, a badminton player with a carefree attitude, and Wien, a half-Austrian transfer student with a deep love for music. Together, they form the choir club, despite initial setbacks and resistance from the school administration. The series explores their individual struggles: Wakana’s journey to reconnect with music, Konatsu’s determination to prove herself, Sawa’s conflict with her family, Taichi’s search for purpose, and Wien’s efforts to adapt to a new culture. As they prepare for a school festival performance, the group bonds over shared experiences, supporting one another through personal and collective challenges.
The narrative balances lighthearted moments with emotional depth, addressing themes of friendship, perseverance, and self-discovery. The characters’ growth is intertwined with their musical endeavors, culminating in a heartfelt performance that symbolizes their unity and resilience. The series concludes with a sense of closure, as each character takes steps toward their future while cherishing the memories they created together.
