Roberto Chevalier is an Italian actor and voice actor, born in Rome on 14 May 1952, who has made significant contributions to the world of anime dubbing. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor in the late 1950s, but it is his voice work for which he is most renowned. While he is widely celebrated as the official Italian voice of Hollywood stars like Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks, his extensive portfolio also includes a substantial number of roles in Japanese animation.

Chevalier's voice can be heard in a variety of anime series and films from different eras. One of his notable early roles was providing the voice for the protagonist Tetsuya Azuma, the transformed superhero Kyashan, in the 1980 Italian adaptation of the classic 1973 series Casshan. He also lent his voice to the character Johnny in the anime adaptation Fables of the Green Forest. Another role with the same character name, Johnny, was performed by Chevalier in the series Anime Yasei no Sakebi, known in Italian as Cari amici animali.

His work extended to animated films and OAVs (Original Animation Videos) based on popular video games and other media. Chevalier voiced the Hong Kong detective Lei Wulong in the 1998 animated feature Tekken: The Motion Picture. He also took on the role of Filota in both Alexander: The Movie and the television series Reign: The Conqueror. Further showcasing his range, he voiced Jimmy Dickens in the film Nagagutsu Sanjūshi.

Beyond these specific titles, Chevalier's anime filmography is rich and diverse. He has voiced characters in internationally acclaimed series such as Vicious in Cowboy Bebop, Masami Eiri in Serial Experiments Lain, and Hyskoa in Hunter X Hunter. His work also includes roles in major franchise films like Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F, where he voiced the angel Whis, and in Mazinger Z: Infinity as Count Blocken. In addition to his on-screen roles, Chevalier has also worked behind the scenes as a dubbing director for Italian versions of anime, including series such as Blue Submarine No.6 and GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka.
