Luis Posada
Description
Luis Posada is a Spanish voice actor recognized for his extensive work in dubbing for Spanish and Catalan language versions of films, television series, and animated works. Born into a family of voice actors, he began his professional career in 1984, following in the footsteps of his father, Luis Posada Mendoza, also a noted figure in dubbing. Over the decades, he has become a prominent and active figure in the industry, co-founding the Polford dubbing studio in 2013, where he also works as a dubbing professor.
Posada's voice is widely known for being the habitual Spanish dub voice for numerous international stars, including Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jim Carrey, and Owen Wilson. While this aspect of his career is prominent, his work in the realm of anime and animated feature films is also extensive. In the anime film Legend of the Galactic Heroes: My Conquest is the Sea of Stars, he provides the voice for the character Dusty Attenborough. His other notable anime roles include Hiro in the film Venus Wars, Rudracin in the series Kama Sutra, and Phillip in Kyōfu Densetsu: Kaiki! Frankenstein. His filmography also includes roles in major anime productions such as Project 2501 (The Puppet Master) in Ghost in the Shell, Calon in Appleseed, and significant parts in series like Ryo Asuka in Devilman, Wolfgang Grimmer in Monster, and Neal in Candy Candy.
Beyond his voice work, Posada's contributions to the dubbing profession have been recognized with industry awards. In 2024, he received the Retake award for best television actor for his performance as Oswald "Oz" Cobb, also known as The Penguin, in the series The Penguin.
