Daoiz Cabezudo was a Brazilian voice actor recognized for his extensive contributions to Portuguese-language dubs of anime and animated series, particularly during the 1990s and early 2000s. He was born on June 10, 1946, in São Paulo, Brazil, and passed away in the same city on October 30, 2006. His career encompassed a wide range of characters, from villains and authority figures to iconic narrators. Cabezudo is perhaps best remembered for two landmark roles in Brazilian popular culture. He gained widespread recognition as the long-running narrator for the Portuguese dub of the immensely popular anime Dragon Ball Z. He also became the definitive voice of Squidward Tentacles in the Brazilian version of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. Beyond these iconic parts, his filmography demonstrates a prolific career in dubbing anime productions. He lent his voice to a variety of characters, including roles such as Stanis Muggiani in Tottoi (known in Brazil as O Segredo da Foca), Morrow in Ozanari Dungeon: Kaze no Tou (titled Jovens Guerreiros in Brazil), and Cardinal Rohan in The Rose of Versailles: I'll Love You As Long As I Live. He voiced Gouzou Mizuchi in the OVA Sukeban Deka and Raius in Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes. His work also included the antagonist Commander Golg Boddole Zer in The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? and Chief Tanaka in 8 Man After. In live-action dubbing, he was part of the voice cast for the Street Fighter II V animated series. Cabezudo's work was frequently handled by prominent dubbing studios of the era, including Dublavídeo and Mastersound. His death in 2006 marked the end of a significant voice career. Following his passing, his role as the narrator on Dragon Ball Z was taken over by other voice actors, and his part as Zapp Brannigan on Futurama, another of his notable roles, was passed on to Marco Antônio Abreu.
