Gabriella Andreini was an Italian actress and voice actress, born Gabriella Baistrocchi in Naples on April 16, 1938. She moved to Rome at a young age to study at the Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico, laying the foundation for a career that spanned stage, film, television, and radio. Her early work included performing with the Gassman-Randone company in Shakespeare's Otello and with Alberto Lupo in a production of Anton Chekhov's Platonov. She was active in the entertainment industry from the late 1950s through the 1980s.

In addition to her on-screen appearances in cinema and television, Andreini built a prolific career as a voice actress, becoming particularly well-known for her work dubbing anime series for the Italian market. Her voice became associated with a wide array of characters in many series that were staples of Italian television. Among her many roles, she provided the Italian voice for Sugar in the series Ganbare Genki, Lilly in Marvelous Melmo, Madora in Moby Dick Five, and the title character Jet in Jetter Mars. She also voiced Micci in Nozomi in the Sun, Carl in Voltes V, and Lala in Shin Don Chuck Monogatari.

Andreini's voice acting repertoire was extensive and included several other prominent roles. She was the first voice for the characters Ryunosuke Fujinami and Kurama in the initial Italian dub of the beloved series Lamù (Urusei Yatsura). She also contributed to the dubs of other major anime, such as providing the first voice for Susanna Marlowe in Candy Candy, voicing Karin and Midori in Mimì e le ragazze della pallavolo (Attack No. 1), and Ugo in Ugo re del judo (The Funny Judo Champion). Her work continued into the 1980s with roles in series like Maison Ikkoku, where she voiced Kozue Nanao. Her frequent collaborations in the world of dubbing highlighted her versatility and made her a recognizable voice to generations of Italian anime viewers.

Gabriella Andreini passed away on April 28, 2024, in Rome at the age of 86, leaving behind a significant legacy in Italian dubbing and entertainment.
