Emmanuel Curtil is a prominent French actor, widely recognized for his extensive and prolific career in dubbing, where he provides the French voices for numerous international actors and animated characters. Born on February 22, 1971, in Charenton-le-Pont, Val-de-Marne, he was encouraged by his mother, a talent agent, to begin acting lessons at the Cours Simon in Paris at the age of nine. His on-screen acting career started early, with his first role in a television film at age ten, followed by appearances in cinema, including a part in Robert Hossein's adaptation of Les Misérables alongside Lino Ventura.

While Curtil has appeared in films and on stage, he is best known for his voice work. He entered the dubbing industry after fellow voice actress Barbara Tissier suggested he audition for the SOFI dubbing studio, which was seeking young voices. This marked the beginning of a highly successful career in postsynchronization. He is renowned as the official French voice of actors such as Jim Carrey, Johnny Knoxville, and the late Matthew Perry, whom he dubbed as Chandler Bing in the series Friends for its first eight seasons.
