Philipp Moog is a German actor and voice actor with a career spanning several decades, during which he has lent his voice to a wide array of characters in film, television, and animation. While he is most widely recognized as the official German dubbing voice for actors such as Ewan McGregor, Orlando Bloom, and Neil Patrick Harris, his extensive body of work also includes contributions to the German-language versions of various anime series and films.

Born in Munich on August 29, 1961, Moog pursued his acting training at the Zinner Studio in Munich before relocating to New York to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and the Juilliard School. His voice acting career began in the early 1980s, and he has since become a prominent figure in the German dubbing industry.

In the realm of anime, Moog has taken on several notable roles that demonstrate his range as a voice actor. He is the German voice of the character Beego in the science fiction series Astra Lost in Space, which was first broadcast in Japan in 2019. The German dubbed version, produced by the studio Neue Tonfilm, features Moog in this role. Another of his anime roles is Komada in the 1995 horror anime film BioHunter. In this production, Moog voices the molecular biologist who, along with his colleague, battles a dangerous virus in a futuristic Tokyo. He also provided the German voice for the character Zero Enna in the 2000 anime television series The Candidate for Goddess, also known as Pilot Candidate. This series was dubbed by the Circle of Arts studio in Munich.

More recently, Moog took on the lead role in the anime series Mushi-Shi. He voices the protagonist, Ginko, a "Mushi Master" who travels through a mystical world to investigate ethereal creatures known as Mushi. In an interview regarding his work on Mushi-Shi, Moog discussed the unique aspects of dubbing animation, noting that while the technique is similar to dubbing live-action, the challenge lies in making the dialogue sound natural despite the often fast and sharp mouth movements of animated characters. His work in anime is part of a broader and highly active career in voice acting, which also includes numerous roles in video games, documentaries, and audiobooks, as well as his ongoing work as a screenwriter and author.
