Yūji Takada

Yūji Takada is a Japanese actor and voice actor affiliated with the talent management firm Ōsawa Office. He was born on January 10, 1960, in Kanagawa Prefecture. Before entering the anime industry, he built a career in acting and narration, which included work as a narrator on the television program Takeshi no Banbutsu Sōseiki from 1995 to 2001.

Takada made his debut as an anime voice actor in 1998, with his first role being in the Sunrise-produced television series Gasaraki, where he provided voices for the characters Kazukiyo Gōwa and Tsuna Watanabe. Since then, he has become a familiar presence in anime, taking on a wide variety of supporting and lead roles.

One of his most enduring and prominent roles is that of Kansuke Yamato in the long-running detective series Detective Conan, also known as Case Closed. He first voiced the character in 1999 and has continued to play the role for decades, appearing in both the television series and the theatrical film franchise. A recent example of this work is his performance as Yamato in the 2025 film Meitantei Conan: Sekigan no Flashback (Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback).

Another significant and recurring role for Takada is Kyōshirō Tōdō in the acclaimed mecha anime series Code Geass. He first voiced the character in the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television series in 2006 and has since reprised the role in numerous sequels and compilation films, including Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and the 2019 film Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. This long-term involvement with the Code Geass franchise demonstrates a strong and recurring collaboration with the production teams behind these projects.

Beyond these signature roles, Takada's filmography is extensive and diverse. He has voiced characters in a wide array of series, such as Tatsumi Saiga in Speed Grapher, Toshihiro Okikura in Glasslip, Keith in Popotan, and Chris Pickman in Hellsing. His work also includes roles in Full Metal Panic!, Scryed, and the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment video game, where he voiced the character Katsuya Suō. Through these many performances, Yūji Takada has established himself as a consistent and experienced character actor within the Japanese animation industry.
