Description
Nike is a second-generation Bioroid and a key figure in the city-state of Olympus. She serves as the chief of staff to Prime Minister Athena Areios and also holds the position of commander-in-chief of ESWAT, Olympus's elite special forces unit. As a Bioroid, she is a genetically engineered being designed to serve and protect humanity, which is her primary purpose. Her emotions are carefully regulated by the seven elders who govern Olympus, and she lacks negative emotions such as anger or hatred, which results in a demeanor that is efficient, composed, and occasionally comes across as cold or reserved. Despite this emotional regulation, she remains fiercely loyal to Athena and to the Bioroid cause of preserving and saving humanity.
In the 2004 film adaptation, Nike largely plays a supportive and reserved role as Athena's assistant, but she takes a decisive and notable action when she fires her pistol at an elder’s arm to prevent him from activating a doomsday switch, buying Athena the time needed to cut off the power. In the Appleseed XIII series, she is portrayed as a younger and highly skilled sniper, known for her precision and calmness even in the most dangerous situations.
