Rei Igarashi is the stage name of Takako Ohama, a Japanese actress and voice actress born on January 9, 1963, in Tokyo, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Rush Style, which was founded by her husband, fellow voice actor Show Hayami.

Igarashi began her career in the entertainment industry in the early 1980s, with her first voice roles dating back to 1983. She is a first-generation graduate of the training school attached to the theater company Garakuta Kobo, which provided her with a foundation in performance before she transitioned more fully into voice acting. Her career has since spanned over four decades, encompassing a wide range of roles in anime, video games, and Japanese dubs of foreign films and television series.

Her filmography is extensive and includes many notable anime roles. She is well known for her portrayal of Precia Testarossa in the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise, including the television series and the movies The MOVIE 1st and The MOVIE 2nd A's. She has a long-standing association with the Saiyuki series, providing the voice of the deity Kanzeon Bosatsu across multiple installments, including Saiyuki Reload, Saiyuki Gaiden, and Saiyuki Reload Blast. Another significant role is Miho Iwakura in the influential 1998 psychological science fiction series Serial Experiments Lain. In the film Eien no 831, she voiced the character Kyōko Kagami. She also voiced the Witch of Delays in the 2021 series Tropical-Rouge! Precure. Her other anime credits include Diana Kuroha Shiratori in the Eden of the East films and television series, Nike in Appleseed: Ex Machina, Marie in Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW, and roles in earlier OVA series such as Elven Bride, La Blue Girl Returns, and the Urotsukidōji franchise. Beyond these, her career includes parts in Demon Lord Dante, Inuyasha, and numerous other productions.

Beyond anime, Igarashi has been highly active in the field of voice-over, or fukikae, for foreign films and TV series. She is recognized as a regular voice for several international actresses, including Vanessa Williams, Viola Davis, and Olivia Williams. Some of her notable dubbing roles include Miranda Tate / Talia al Ghul (played by Marion Cotillard) in The Dark Knight Rises, Dr. Volumnia Gaul (Viola Davis) in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and Rose Quartz in the Japanese dub of the animated series Steven Universe. She also provided the Japanese voice for Hawkgirl in the animated series Justice League.

Her voice has also been featured in video games, with one of her most prominent roles being Mira Kagami from the popular dating sim Tokimeki Memorial. More recently, she voiced the character Rhonda in the 2024 game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Throughout her long career, Igarashi's voice has become associated with elegant, authoritative, and often mysterious or villainous characters. Her contributions extend beyond performance; she is also involved in training new talent, working as a lecturer alongside her husband at the DWANGO creative school. She has also worked as a lyricist for songs performed by Show Hayami.
