Aquarius Camus guards Sanctuary's eleventh temple as the Gold Saint of the Aquarius constellation. He mentored Cygnus Hyoga and Kraken Isaac in Siberia's tundra, teaching that strength requires emotional detachment as unyielding as eternal ice. Standing 184 cm tall, he possesses light blue eyes and a composed demeanor, with turquoise hair in anime adaptations and red hair in manga depictions.
During the Sanctuary arc, Camus supports the corrupt Pope despite suspecting Athena's betrayal, viewing neutrality as essential to a Gold Saint's duty. To sever Hyoga's emotional weaknesses, he sinks his mother's ship deeper into a Siberian trench. After entombing Hyoga in a Freezing Coffin during their initial clash—expressing sorrow yet resolve—Camus later provokes Hyoga into mastering absolute zero at the Aquarius Temple. Fatally frozen by Hyoga's Aurora Execution, Camus dies satisfied, recognizing his pupil's awakened seventh sense.
Resurrected as a Specter in the Hades Chapter - Sanctuary, Camus joins Gemini Saga and Capricorn Shura under Hades's command. Disguised in Surplices, they eliminate pursuers Cube, Ox, and Mills to infiltrate Sanctuary undetected. Confronted by Virgo Shaka's Tembu Horin, they deploy the forbidden Athena Exclamation to kill him, sacrificing their honor to preserve their mission. When Leo Aiolia, Aries Mu, and Scorpio Milo retaliate with their own Athena Exclamation, Bronze Saints prevent mutual annihilation. After delivering Athena's blood to Hades's castle, Camus's group attempts to assassinate Hades but disintegrates as their resurrection expires. His spirit later aids fellow Gold Saints in destroying the Wailing Wall with combined cosmos, opening the path to Elysium.
Spin-offs further explore Camus. Episode G shows him defending Sanctuary soldiers from Titans like Oceanus while debating divine tyranny versus human autonomy. His camaraderie with Scorpio Milo is emphasized through joint battles and shared concern for Hyoga. In Soul of Gold, Odin resurrects him as an Einherjar; coerced by Surtr via a past accident involving Surtr's sister, Camus initially fights allies before betraying Surtr. He sacrifices himself using Aurora Execution to annihilate the god warrior.
Camus wields cryokinesis focused on halting atomic motion to achieve absolute zero. His techniques include Diamond Dust (freezing blasts), Koltso (immobilizing ice rings), Freezing Coffin (entombment), and Aurora Execution (ultimate attack). His Aquarius Gold Cloth resists all cold except absolute zero and later manifests spiritually to assist Hyoga against Poseidon.
