Professor Samuel Oak is a Pokémon Professor who lives and works at his research laboratory in Pallet Town in the Kanto region. He is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished and respected Pokémon researchers in the world, and he is best known as the person who introduces young trainers to their first Pokémon. In the anime, he serves as a major supporting character and a guiding presence for the series protagonist, Ash Ketchum, from the very start of his journey.
