Description
Ran Mouri, daughter of private detective Kogoro Mouri and lawyer Eri Kisaki, strives to reunite her parents since their separation during her childhood. As Teitan High School's karate club captain and regional champion, she wields extraordinary strength, agility, and stamina—capable of dodging bullets, shattering solid objects, and subduing multiple attackers. Yet intense supernatural fear can paralyze her.

Her bond with Shinichi Kudo began in kindergarten when he shielded her from bullies and foiled her kidnapping. Shared experiences, like a New York trip where she saved disguised serial killer Vermouth from a fatal fall—earning the name "Angel"—solidified her romantic feelings for him. After Shinichi's disappearance, she took in Conan Edogawa (unaware he is Shinichi) as a surrogate brother at Professor Agasa's request. Repeated suspicions about Conan's identity arise, only to be quelled by elaborate deceptions from him, Ai Haibara, or Kaito Kid.

Ran manages household finances and domestic duties due to her father's incompetence. Beyond karate, she excels at cooking, sewing, piano, singing, and fluent English. She exhibits uncanny luck in gambling and games of chance, never losing. She uses an older-model cellphone with a sea cucumber strap, a replacement from Shinichi after he destroyed her original during an aquarium case, and later fulfilled a childhood promise by buying a designer purse from Fusae Campbell.

In *The Fist of Blue Sapphire*, Ran traveled to Singapore with Sonoko Suzuki and Kogoro to support Makoto Kyogoku's martial arts tournament. After Kyogoku's sponsor was murdered, Sonoko became his replacement sponsor. Ran encountered Conan (smuggled in by Kaito Kid under the alias "Arthur Hirai") without recognizing him, and remained oblivious to Kid impersonating Shinichi. Her karate skills proved pivotal when Kyogoku confronted Kid, though external interference prevented resolution.

Notable incidents include thwarting an attempted stabbing with a karate kick while scouted as a painting model. Her relationship with Shinichi progressed when he confessed during the London arc ("Holmes' Revelation"), leading them to date. Her unwavering loyalty persists as she awaits his return despite prolonged absence.
