Description
Raphtalia is a demi-human girl with raccoon-like animal features: long brown hair, reddish eyes, a pair of fluffy dog-like ears, and a bushy tail. In Isekai Quartet 3, she appears as a main student character in the crossover anime, in which she, Naofumi Iwatani, and many other heroes from different isekai series have been placed together in a school setting.
Raphtalia comes from the world of The Rising of the Shield Hero, where she lived in the demi-human village of Lurolona. When her village was struck by a catastrophic event called a Wave, she lost both of her parents, was later captured, and was sold into slavery. Her early life left her severely traumatized and physically frail until the Shield Hero, Naofumi, purchased her as a slave. Under his care, she recovered and began to grow rapidly in physical age as her level increased, a trait unique to demi-humans whose bodies mature in step with their strength. She eventually became a capable young woman while still preserving the vulnerable side of the child she once was.
In personality, Raphtalia is kind, earnest, diligent, and emotionally mature. Despite the cruelty she endured, she does not become cynical or vengeful; she remains compassionate and protective of innocent people. She has a serious work ethic and good manners, which help her adapt easily to school life. She is gentle by nature but can be firm when defending Naofumi, and she shows a jealous streak when other girls seek his attention. She is also notably innocent in romantic matters.
