As navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates during the Mecha Island events, Nami joins the hunt for the legendary Golden Crown treasure following the rescue of an elderly woman from a sinking ship. Her analytical skills prove vital in deciphering clues from the Yurari Uta folk song, where her insight that "tsuki" means "strike" rather than "moon" uncovers the treasure's entrance. Exploring the island's caves, she employs her Clima-Tact to execute Thunderbolt Tempo, inadvertently triggering the island's transformation into a colossal turtle. When the leader Ratchet seizes control of the turtle to pursue world domination, she separates from part of the crew during the counterattack, later reuniting with Usopp and Chopper to retrieve the Going Merry while others confront Ratchet. Nami consistently demonstrates intelligence and practicality, aligning with her navigator duties and prioritizing the crew's ship safety. Her primary weapon, the tri-sectional Clima-Tact, manipulates weather for combat, generating thunder-based attacks. Physically, she is a young woman with ginger hair and brown eyes. Her varied attire typically includes tops, skirts, and high-heeled sandals. A tattoo of a mikan and pinwheel covers her left shoulder, masking an earlier mark linked to the Arlong Pirates. Navigational tools like a Log Pose often adorn her left wrist. Orphaned and adopted by Bell-mère alongside sister Nojiko, she endured eight years under the fish-man pirate Arlong, working to buy Cocoyashi Village's freedom. After Arlong's defeat, she permanently joined the Straw Hats, driven by the goal of mapping the entire world. Within the crew, she operates as a pragmatic and occasionally commanding figure, managing finances and directing navigation or crisis responses. Despite initial pirate distrust from her past, she exhibits unwavering loyalty to her crewmates.
