Description
Ash Ketchum is a Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town in Kanto, driven by the goal of becoming a Pokémon Master. He started his journey at age ten with Pikachu, received from Professor Oak, forging a partnership built on mutual trust and strong bonds that defines his training style. Traveling across multiple regions, Ash has competed in numerous Pokémon Leagues, steadily improving his skills. He journeys through the Sinnoh region with companions Brock and Dawn.

Arriving in Alamos Town to attend a Pokémon Contest with Dawn, Ash encounters spatial distortions caused by the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia clashing in an alternate dimension. He witnesses the chaotic aftermath of their battle, manifesting as unstable air currents and structural damage. Darkrai, a Mythical Pokémon, uses Dark Void on Ash, trapping him in a terrifying nightmare where he witnesses Palkia's destructive power, leading him to perceive Darkrai as a threat.

When Palkia shifts Alamos Town into another dimension to escape Dialga, trapping everyone inside, Ash joins other Trainers in confronting Darkrai, mistakenly blamed for the crisis. However, scientist Tonio's historical records and eyewitness accounts reveal Darkrai has been protecting the town from the warring legendaries. Ash reevaluates his assumptions, demonstrating his capacity to understand misunderstood Pokémon.

During the climax, Ash ascends the Space-Time Tower with Dawn and Tonio to activate the Oración, a musical composition capable of pacifying enraged Pokémon. When the towers lose power, Ash directs Pikachu and Dawn's Pachirisu to recharge them using their Electric-type moves. The successful Oración performance calms Dialga and Palkia, ending their battle. Ash then appeals to Palkia to return Alamos Town to its original dimension. He feels palpable relief when Darkrai reappears, confirming the Pokémon's survival.

Throughout the film's condensed events, Ash displays characteristic traits: protective instincts towards Pikachu during the nightmare, leadership coordinating the tower ascent, and adaptability in leveraging his Pokémon's abilities for non-combat solutions. His defense of Darkrai after recognizing its true intentions aligns with his established tendency to form bonds with diverse Pokémon species during large-scale crises involving legendary conflicts.
