Pegasus Seiya, one of eighty-eight Saints serving Athena, wears the Pegasus Bronze Cloth embodying its constellation. Hailing from Japan as an unacknowledged son of billionaire Mitsumasa Kido, he grew in an orphanage with his sister Seika. Childhood separation from her drove him to train in Greece under Silver Saint Eagle Marin, earning the Pegasus Cloth solely to reunite with Seika.
Seiya exhibits extraordinary resolve, refusing surrender against any opposition or injury. Though impulsive and occasionally brash, he upholds fierce loyalty to allies, profound compassion even toward foes, and an unwavering sense of justice. His kindness and protectiveness attract others, yet he avoids combat with female opponents when feasible. This tenacity magnifies when shielding Athena or fellow Bronze Saints.
His combat revolves around manipulating Cosmos—universal energy within all beings. Signature techniques include the transonic-speed Pegasus Meteor Fist and Pegasus Comet Fist. Brutal conflicts awaken advanced cosmic senses: the Seventh Sense unlocks light-speed movement and Big Bang-level force; the Eighth Sense governs soul and body in the afterlife; the Ninth Sense signifies godhood. His durability, strength, and energy projection surge dramatically, enabling flight through cosmic energy or cloth wings and survival in voids like space.
During the Hades conflict, Seiya defied orders to stay from the Sanctuary, aiding allies against resurrected Gold Saints targeting Athena. Struck by Hades’ cursed sword, he fell comatose but later awoke in the Underworld. Reuniting with fellow Bronze Saints, he fought to free Athena’s soul. In Elysion’s climax, he and his comrades attained God Cloths—divine armor surpassing Gold Cloths—to confront Hades. Seiya sacrificed himself to shield Athena, enduring Hades’ retaliation that left him cursed and crippled.
Beyond this saga, Seiya resurfaces in later continuities like Saint Seiya Omega decades afterward. At age 37, he mentors new protagonists while continuing his service to Athena.
